How Many Axes / Hatchets Do You Own?

To date 70 , going to pick up
8 more at the end of the month. But I don’t
count on those until they are in hand.

I think I may need a bigger Den .

Canadian Axe

36 hung 30 plus waiting 4 of which are jersey pattern had a jersey kick for awhile. Now regret it rest are Michigan or double bits most are 4 pounds or more on the scale except. For the Collins homestead collect I have cannot put them in a pattern. Six Collins homestead axes love them and guess what my brothers get for Christmas.

I finally got around to counting my axes/hatchets...

21 axes hung... 22 if you consider an estwing an axe :p
19 'lady's in waiting'

8 hatchets
2 hatchet heads 'in waiting'

1 splitting maul
1 'sledge and wedge'

And...
2 crosscut saws

At least I think thats it :D

Oh... And 1 'gently used' turn of the century bucksaw

4 hatchets 2 heads waiting and 2 hung. 3 if you consider an estwing an axe ;). 1 sledge but no wedge. Lol

I think I have 25 hung axes, 11 hung hatchets, and 42 unhung heads. I may have missed a couple, not sure.

No Estwing "axe shaped" objects. ;)

And let's see that old bucksaw!

And in defense of Estwing their long handled camper's axe ain't that bad. One of my co-workers keeps one in his truck and I've used it enough to respect it as a functional axe. And I've sharpened it - the steel is good. Just the same I still prefer a traditional wood handled axe (though I counted a Fiskars in my total).

I'm a little confused now, but
29 axes and 35 hatchets, not counting a few unhung of each. Not counting 3 hewing hatchets, a produce hatchet, and a lathing hatchet, because they seem too specialized. Not counting one tomahawk and one unhung. I am counting hammer-hatchets, whether flared downward only or above and below (Nessmuk's old Mt Vernon type) and claw hatchets.
Now I've forgotten whether I counted my tiny Estwing or not. I think it has enough meat in the mushroomed poll to be made into a Nestwuck double-bit pocket axe.

Are you going to be alright???? :D

I bet he's in triple digits.

Hi, I'm Pegs and I'm an axeholic. But I can quit anytime. (Yeah, right.)

You guys have me wondering myself. I've never counted but I definitely don't have triple digits hung axes. Counting the free heads I may be up there in triple digits. I'll try to get a count soon.

Hello everybody, new to the site and I think Ive found a home here. There is nothing better than your own axes except for looking at pictures of everyone else' axes.

1 GB small splitting axe
1 GB maul
1 GB small forest axe
2 Plumb double bits
1 Kelly works Jersey
1 True Temper Tommahatchet
1 True Temper Flint Edge broad hatchet
2 unknown mauls
2 Collins (not sure about these yet) stamped US 04
1 True Temper single bit just acquired

I think that's it. Seems small when you read the amounts posted. I knew I had to get more!!!!!!!!

Hi All, I'm new to the site too after lurking a couple weeks and checking out all the great axe pictures. I hope to post some of mine as soon as I can figure out how posting pictures works. I don't know how many axes I have now, about 75 I think. Mostly old US made, about 10 Swedish, 6 Canadian. I need to rehab about 10 of them.
