How many Bladeforums members does it take to change a light bulb?

One to change the light bulb and to post the fact that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs (gollnick?)

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ...

Another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive

Two industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

27 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"

2 to post reasons why the light bulb burning out is the result of a government conspiracy.

4 to say "didn't we cover this a few months ago?"

43 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs"

5 to say "thank you"

1 lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again

A minimum of 3 makers to discuss/argue the relative benefits of 1095 versus
Talonite versus 6AL/4V and the accompanying Rc values pertinent to the construction of the lightbulb's base!

Great thread Danelle!

32 to realize that they can't answer "Sebenza" to this question.

1 to post why using a titanium-handled folder to clean out a broken light bulb base from a live socket is not a good idea.

Another 10 to chime in the the benefits of Halogen/flurecent replacement lamps. :)

At least a dozen replies about how bulbs (lamps) are old technology and dead and we have entered the wonderous age of the LED and that if you were only awake and aware of this wonderful modern technology, you'd never have to deal with changing a light bulb again (although you might need surface mount soldering skills to replace a defective LED).

jmxcpter> your point? at 110K hours, or 11.4yrs of continous run time, most of us are out of the house and moved somewhere else by the time it'll finally blow... leave that headache to the next owner.

BTW

SEBENZA
and
Funnel Cake!

Don't forget the troll who will tell us that: "Only faggots use light bulbs anyway."

1 or 2 to get together and produce a video tutorial........

BTW........

(says quietly)
Sebenza! :-)

Then there is the quality verses quanity issue. With light bulbs can you have both? Precision control of your hand untwisting the old light bulb from the socket and replacing it correctly. Understanding wattage. Understanding the different aspects of brightness. Points to ponder here and if Bruce Springstein were at my home would I let him change it? :D :D :D

5 (including me :o ) who have to expound upon our fellow Sebenzanista's recommendations by mentioning the virtues of CRK's fit/finish, superior materials and outstanding warranty (ah yes, that magnificent warranty  ). :D ;)

1 to say: "Come on guys, read the sticky! Talk about lighbulbs belongs in Gadgets and Gear" ;)
You bastid.

And one moderator to move it to another forum cause it aint in the right one! :D

Then someone would post a picture of a naked bulb, and the whole mess would get moved to W&C.

:D

:D
And then someone would show a pic of the naked bulb getting "screwed" into a socket and it'd have to get moved to Pirate's Cove. :D
