How many CF BWM's were made/sold?

Just curious what the production numbers were if anyone knows.

Production numbers are rarely released. I would be shocked if you got an answer to your question.

What does the "cf" stand for. I am not up on my Busse acronyms.

no one outside the company knows, and they don't share those details.

but, since they were only sold at a show and a ganza - it can't be too many, IMO.

thanks, i didnt know they don't release numbers, I wonder why? It would be good to know so that you could have a better idea of the value due to the rarity

I'm a little worried about my recent CF BWM purchase.

Some people (Including Jerry) say it's ugly. I guess looks is all personal perference though.

Wondering if the whole blade will be "dimpeld' or just the part near the handles.
Jerry's photos, it seems it's clear that it is only the bottom by the handles.

It could be due to the lighting and camera?
Rich posted photos of the CF BWM..
I see the dimples here,

But can hardly (or don't see them) here

Edit: Not to steal your thread :)

I just bought one too and the way I had it explained to me was that the you get the convex edge but lose the spray on baked finish that the combat grade comes with( the combat grade is convexed with a V edge i heard, so it will dull faster i think) I guess it takes more time to convex it so if you have both of them and only want to use one, i personally would go with the CF because it will cut wood better and if it is "ugly", you wont be mad if you scuff it up i guess, i think the pitting looks kind of cool like its hand crafted, what do you think?

Bussecollector is a great website. They explain all the acronyms, take a look :D

Yeah, I heard about the different edges. I was just reading about that.
Yup, I've also heard the CF is better for slicing and cutting.

I would ultimately prefer a Satin finish, then I would prefer the black combat finish, lastly I would pick the pitting.
I guess I rushed my purchase, just too eager to get into the "Busse INFI game" ha
Good point, the pitting is unique and resembles a hand crafted job.
I guess I'm just 'freaking out' because I bought a $400 item without holding it and seeing it with my own eyes.

Check this article out too, it helped me to understand about the types of convex. I have seen the bussecollector but have never looked in the appendix, only the catalog, ill do that, thanks, yeah i am new to these knives too, but am addicted. My girlfriend thinks i'm stupid, i dont care though haha. the reason i like these knives is that i think they will at least hold their value, and i spent way too much on them over the last two weeks, but if i needed extra money, i think i could break even. I think that CF will be sought after in a few year when they are gone, they prob only made a couple hundred of them if that, i might be wrong on the numbers, but it will last generations and you can pass it on. If my dad passed one down to me when i was younger, i would have flipped out and thought i was the coolest kid on the block. I don't know about you, but I am probably not just going to chop 4x4's for the hell of it too much, i would prob use this one for actual camping, and try to keep the rest of my future collection in good/great shape since they are so expensive and i have not won the lottery yet, are you going to use all of yours if you get more of them?

the pitting kind of reminds me of this in a way, like it was hand crafted, what do you think?

You pitted knife is a disgrace. Send it to me for proper disposal.

Trade for a Combat black finish? haha
joking.

I guess my fear is rust. Aside from cars, I've never bought an expensive product that will be immediately prone to rusting.

Edit: My friend has a Busse War Boar coated in black. (Combat war boar?) and his has not rusted for 3 years.
I doubt I could just withhold from wiping down my CF for 3 years and be non-rusted.

The answer to the original question would probably have to come from the janitor. But he's most likely drank to much scotch to remember. :D

Allure= Shroud yourself in mystery.;)

thank goodness, the last thing we need are other reasons to drive up the price.

tools first, speculative investments later. they are hard-use knives after all.

You are right about tools first, but i think in 10-20 years these will be sought after big time, look at the FBM line, it has near doubled in value in a few short years, blades and guns tend to do that IMO, I'll take the pepsi challenge against some chicks' beanie baby collection on these knives, plus i sleep alot better with them in my room haha, I think the bead blast will be ok for rust prevention, someone on a thread said if you are really paranoid about rust or storing for a long time, use vaseline, plus, i use silicon gun covers that work great, i was thinking about modding or wrapping some of them to fit these if i plan on storing them. and i guarantee, if you are like me, you will be having a beer on friday evening and want to go ogle over them, so you can just oil them then. So how many man hours does it take to strip and convex a BM??

Nakid Infi is not rust prone. None of my 4 naked models have ever had a rust problem, whether they are factory satin, or stripped.

Infi is not a rust aggressive steel. The only ones that had a rust problem were the original Comp finishes where the decarb layer was not removed. One less step, to keep the price down. The new Bush Wacker Comp finish is actually bead blasted, so the only issue with rust you will likely ever have is with an older comp finish sarsquatch or Jackhammer's
