How many Delicas is too many?

These are all I have at this time...I used to have a bunch more, but unfortunately (or fortunately, for others :) ), they tend to make great impromptu gifts...

I think I have too many...for my needs:

flat ground: green, grey, orange, 2 zdp BRG.
combo edges: black handle black blade, white, zdp BRG, and a foliage green.

the combo edges sit in their boxes except for the ZDP combo edge that is kept by my computer. i plan on gifting the flat ground grey and green delicas.

the only ones that get used are my tom krein'd zdp delica's, the combo edge zdp and one flat ground vg10.

although nowhere close to the collection of some people.

I just got my first, a blue FFG. I'll definitely be getting more, and I think I'm going to get all my groomsmen delicas as well.

Thanks. I had a very large collection of Spyderco's, all variations, but started to thin out and now only focus on a few models with the Delica's being one. Charles

I'd buy another one. Then buy two more. Nah, I think three's more like it. Screw it, just keep buying 'em and I'll tell you when to stop.

That's the one I just ordered, I figured I needed to at least try one with the Emerson wave opener. I can't wait!

I was going to say, if you are going to collect the Delica (or Endura) then the waved model should be in there. I like mine, though it's true what they say, the wave does wear out your pocket quite a bit.

I'm loving it so far! It has a monopoly on my EDC rotation right now. I might swap the handle with one of my FFG Delicas for a more exciting color though..

The Delica and Endura are probably the best values in folders. I have a couple of each. ;)

I only have 1 right now, but have gifted 3. Little sister got purple, little brother got a SS, and step brother got grey. Mine is pink

Powernoodle, can I ask how you did the blue full serrated and black swap? I've been wanting to do this to create a combo edge blue. Do you keep the internal liners together? In other words only swap the colored scales? I've never taken one of mine apart and I don't want to do it if the fit is not correct and factory tight. Does the action and lockup on yours feel factory? Thanks!

To the OP:

The Delica is probably the best overall EDC knife in existence. So, if you EDC a knife (that is every day) I can't imagine not having multiple Delicas in different blade configurations and colors. They are not expensive relative to say customs so it's easy to justify having half a dozen or more of these fantastic knives. Multiples also covers you if you lose one or in my case I carry a spare in my vehicle. I started with a full serrated Delica Myself in the early nineties.

That light blue Delica in my picture has had a whole bunch of parts swapped around. I found that it was best to just switch the scales and keep the internals pretty much the same because some of the lockbars didn't fit the blades right and it wound up not working right. But if you keep the right blade with the right lock then the action works out just fine. Good luck!

I got my first Delica the other day,a ffg Delica ZDP189 with British racing green frn handles. All I can say is WOW,what an edge that one takes!!

Unless it has changed since I last looked the ZDP Delicas are saber-ground not ffg. But in any case its a damn good knife with a great steel! Enjoy it!
