I constantly use my PST II at the shop and offshore, sometimes the toolbox is just sooo far away. I've already beat on it with a hammer, no sign of damage.
When they first came out. . .I got a Leatherman and a Gerber.
I used to abuse my "original" type Gerber (had the plier type-jaws). I could actually get one of the jaws to snap off. Of course, when not used for their original or intended purpose. But. . .the screw driver's were pretty weak ~ especially the "phillips." Didn't have to abuse it for it to fail !
I currently have a Gerber (needle nose) with tool kit that takes massive abuse and has yet to breakdown ! Aren't improvements wonderful.
I have numerous "Leatherman's" and have yet to have any fail ! Even when used improperly ! Maybe that explains why I have so many ! lol
