How Many, In Original Boxes, Where Stored?

Yes you guys in tin foil hats are correct
Tin foil hats....lol

I also keep all the boxes in a desk drawer. My wife actual made me a nice cedar box with a glass lid where I keep some of my nicer knives, The others are stored in those nylon folding knife cases/pouches.

I prefer to keep my collection in movement at all times. I've found that the best solution is to hire a ninja to carry my knives.

Numbers? I don't know, but I know there are more than 10 and I have ten "fingers" because I can see that many from where I sit typing on my computer. Boxes? I store knife boxes in plastic tub(s). I don't throw away knife boxes just like I don't throw away computer boxes or gun boxes. I toss computer boxes when the computer's age is past the point where I would ship it back to the manufacturer for repairs. I'd save TV boxes too but they are too big.

Do you want a map - and the hours I'm not home, too? Sorry, if you need storage suggestions, you could have been a bit less invasive with your query! You're a bit new to the dance here - and don't list your home area.

Yeeeep, that was my first thought as well. Whether or not OP intended to sound creepy, he's got a very odd way of asking a storage question.

If he had asked how I store my knives, that seems like a fair question. I keep them in a drawer, separate from the boxes. Asking where I keep them sounds like he wants to know where in my house they are kept - that's just odd, because what possible use could he have for that information?

If you where a thief it would not matter if they where stored in a safe vs shoe box in the hall closet. A thief would find a way to get to them or if he/she could not then other things around the house would go missing. Yes you guys in tin foil hats are correct there is a small chance someone could fish for info about your valuables this way but there is also a chance someone could be fishing for info about murdering you and your family by going threw your trash or sitting outside your home or job. Do you burn all your trash and take different routes to work everyday living in fear? I mean theres a chance this could happen same as there is a chance some guy could use the internet to get info about your knife collection a collection most of you advertise to the world anyway. I hear tin foil is on sale this week at most major retailers.

Oh btw i keep my knives in the top drawer of my dresser on a nice micro fiber towel. I don't save boxes since every knife i own is used hard and will be with me till it breaks, or wears out.

We aren't talking about a cat burglar. Thieves will go after the easiest available targets. It stands to reason that if an individual keeps his 10,000$ knife collection in a shoe box, then his other valuables are being stored in a similar manner. This isn't Ocean's 11. This guy could be putting this question out there then be sitting there waiting for a response from someone in his area. It's not a "tin-foil hat" thing, it's about understanding the fact that a huge portion of crime starts on the internet.

Some of you are over thinking........

I have most of my original boxes, which are kept in a drawer in my office. I keep my knives in an old desk- 3" blades and under in the top drawer and over 3" in the middle drawer.

I usually store the knives in the original boxes if I decide I am not going to use it or I have moved on to the next toy that caught my attention. I never store knives inside leather sheaths.

I keep all of my knives in Spyderco Spyderpacs (Large). They work well at keeping each knife individually protected and the knives are all visible when I unfold the Spyderpac. I keep all the original knife boxes in a large box so if I ever trade/gift/sell a knife I can return it to the original packing.

I only have boxes for less than a dozen of my knives (mainly my EDCs) since the vast majority of mine are "previously owned". The few boxes I have are stacked on a shelf in a closet. EDCs are kept in a desk drawer. My collection knives are kept in cloth-lined wood boxes in a 500 lb safe in a locked, alarmed workshop behind a fence with dogs runnning around in the yard. The safe is primarily for fire-protection, but serves for theft protection as well. The alarmed building is for the shop tools, rather than the knives. Horse/barn-door syndrome. Was burgled for over $20K in power tools in 2006 - before alarms, dogs or fence.

Nice cases. I do the same thing but mine are felt lined and hold 12 knives each. Those are stored in my large gun safe. All the boxes are stored in a large box for future use.
