How Many Kinds of 440C are There?

Just read an article in the new Blade. A maker I'd never heard of stated that he had three kinds of 440C in stock. Well, what do you all think about that? Am I missing something?

Precision ground, cold rolled, and hot rolled? Or possibly 440C made by three different companys?
