This question may have been floated before - sorry if it has. I just wonder what sort and how many knives people have in there edc and why those.

These days the following knives rotate in my edc:

1. Spyderco Persian - for its beauty and cutting ability
2. RRF (MA) - for incredibly fast and smooth opening and overall quality
3. mini socom elite (MA) - for small size and cutting ability in a small package
4. Ka-Bar Dozier folding hunter in D2 - when i need something without a clip or need a lot of cutting done (i guess it is my non-threatening beater:) )
5. kershaw whirlwind - another beater in the car toolbox

Right now it's down to just three:

Spyderco Meerkat at work.

And either the Spyderco Atlantic Salt or the Camillus CUDA EDC when I'm not at work.

nice and simple :D

Spyderco Millie S30V at work.

Sere 2k, SRK Rat Trap or MT Amphibian MA everywhere else, depending on my mood and what I'm wearing.

The Rat Trap is fairly new, and the Millie replaced a 440V version, but this has been my EDC selection for about 18 months after several false starts and adjustments.

How is the MT Amphibian - i was always curious about that one - i was always partial to MT designs - but this one doesn't look like any other MTs. Does it feel bulky? how is the quality, etc...?

Typically four or five. For around town and work a BM 940 or BM 551, other times if I'm in a "sporting" mode its a Emerson CQC-10 or Lone Wolf T2 Harsey.

At work, I carry a Spyderco D'Allara Rescue,a Leatherman Pulse , and my EDC. Outside of work, I carry either a BM Mini Stryker or Spyderco Dragonfly.

I carry a Gunting in a belt sheath much of the time, or my ShivWorks Clinch Pick. And I keep an SAK in my desk and in my briefcase/backpacks/fanny pack. Occasionally I wear a small fixed blade on a belt sheath. The SAKs do most of the cutting.

IMO, a vastly undeappreciated folder. MT has a foul rep for customer service, but if you get a good one they are outstanding knives.

I avoided it for a long time, because I don't really care for metal scales, but its become one of my favorite knives. Lock up is solid, ergos are phenomenal, I like the teardrop stud, and the blade is a really useful recurve that's not that hard to sharpen. My particular example (S30V/black-black) locks up rock solid, with no blade play - it does close slightly off center, but not enough for me to send it back.

Because the handle is arched, it takes up a little more space than some other knives, but the clip is well designed and it rides comfortably in the pocket.

Depending on the situation, and hence the length of the blade, I rotate between these knives:
Longest: Cold Steel Voyager (Tanto)
Middle: Spyderco Native
Smallest: Meerkat (serrated)

Regards, vC

Generally I'll carry one of my Benchmades: 710, 806, 805. They have the approximately 4-inch balde I prefer.

Sometimes, I'll through in the Benchmade 750 or 630.

When at work, I add on the Spyderco Dodo.

thank you very much - one more question - how threatening does it look - would you be comfortable edcing in the office?

Three:

Strider HAK
Large Sebenza
Large RitterGrip

these are all rather large knives - do you work in an office and if yes are you comfortable edcing them?

the clinch pick also in a sheath on the belt or are there other carry options?

Mostly EDC either a Delica or mini-Grip. Sometimes I go for a Military, Endura or 80mm Manix, but those end up feeling a little big in my pocket and (for my light usage needs) don't provide any additional utility.

best regards
