How many knives do you carry?

First thing in the morning, I grab my phone off the charger and a pocket knife. As I move around the house during the day (WFH) I will have 2-3 knives on me depending on my mood. My monitor stand has a drawer that fits about 20 knives for quick access. If I jump in my truck to go somewhere, I have 2 or 3 still on me, plus another 5-6 within reach in the truck on in my coat/ECD pouch. If I travel, I pack 5 or 6 that wouldn't make me cry if lost or damaged, but something that gives me joy and variety. Air travel means I need to check baggage and auto travel is not an issue. In 40 years, I've only lost one to TSA and that was before 9/11. Apparently double edge was a no no even then....oops. Some places say "no weapons allowed". I snuck a Cobratech into a band concert last year and had to stuff it down my pants and go thru the metal detector twice while trying get lost in the crowd. That was dumb, but I liked that knife and the detector surprised me for that venue. Church or a wedding, I'll pick one and travel light like a gentleman. I am not a minimalist to say the least.

If I'm at work I usually carry 3. A actual edc folder, a beater folder, and a fixed blade.

If I'm off it's usually just 1 folder depending on what I got going on. But usually have backups in the truck..

Normally 2 or three. Left pocket, right pocket, one in backpack (SAK Swisschamp in pack).
More if going to the woods.

But when I go to the next concert in Toronto soon, none.
Could've bag checked it next door, but meet and greet happens prior to that establishment opening. Not gonna miss out on an epic time just to have a knife on me.

I'll just have to claw and gnaw my way through the day like a savage, I guess. ;)
Sometimes you have to go full caveman in order to ensure a successful adventure. :D

I'll forego knife in order to meet them again, and have a great day.

One.

Damn. Here I thought I was weird always carrying 3 or 4! Usually a clipped knife on my front right pocket, a peanut sized in my watch pocket, SAK bottom of front right and large traditional in right rear. Belt knife if in the woods. Guess I’m a slacker.20250225_153525.jpeg

just one at a time, unless I am afield. Last week when spending days in the wilderness, I carried a folder and a fixed blade.

I used to carry insane amounts when I went to the woods. Load up the pack with so many knives, just to get the chance to use them.
That was when I was a bit younger...

Now, my back screams at me and says I'm an idiot if I try that.
Makes selecting what to bring more challenging, but the trek is far easier. :)

One folder, one fixed blade as combo:

Edit: Always make sure to bring an extra knife for toads...

i stopped counting numbers of knives. I just go by the pound. Once I get to about about 5 pounds, im reasonably sure I can take on the day.
I'm Canadian. I measure my knives in kilograms. :)

Seriously though, I carry one folder in my right front pocket and a SAK in my shoulder bag or coat pocket.

Just a folder, unless I'm camping or doing something else where a fixed blade makes sense.

Knives also end up living in bags, not always on purpose. So sometimes I surprise myself with a second, but that's not intentional.

I subscribe to the two is one, and one is none theory. I have at least two on me while piddling around the house. When I go out, it's more like three. If I go on an overnight trip, I take about six.
