My eBay feedback score is about 340 and that doesn't count the many knives that I have bought from retailers and privately. I think I have about 700 but I might be out a few.

Wow - and I thought I was bad with over 200 :D. I would like to know where you store them all? What storage is your preference?

150+ at this point; everything from SanRenMu to Sebenza. Case, GEC, Emerson, Benchmade, you name it. I have no intention of selling anything...

I have a Sebenza 25, mini-grip, kershaw Leek, and a Strider SNG on the way. I need one fixed blade hunter and I'll call it done. I couldn't imagine owning 150 of anything, I would go nuts trying to decide what to grab. I've always envied those that can collect, I can't, if I don't use it, it gets sold. I love guns, knives, and watches, and I own 3 guns, 4 watches, and 4 knives, just not a collector. I've given away many items just because they were sitting around unused.

Only have about about 20 of my own. Being a lefty limits my choices and that's probably a good thing, for the wallet anyway.

Can't count the kitchen Shun and Wüsthof knives; my wife bought those, I just sharpen them.

I have a whole bunch more than 150, but then I've been accumulating and collecting since 1975.

My least expensive knife is in the -$75 range. I bought a "lot" of 20 knives on fleabay for 1 knife in the batch and ended up with over $120+ more than I paid by selling the rest individually. One of the "junkers" turned out to be a semi-rare razor from the 1900s that went for >$100. Most expensive was a vintage Kabar Hardhat dive knife. Only 25 have been > $200, and most of those have been scarce bayonet and military knife models.

Since last year at this time I have probably owned 100+ knives. I have sold the ones that didn't do anything for me. Currently I own around 16, of those 7 or so are in the regular EDC rotation.

I have an Ikea cabinet that is 12 feet wide and most of mine are in boxes in the bottom. I have 2 glass cupboards in this grouping that have 100 or so in them for display.

12 butter knives that came with silverware
1 medium size Chicago Cutlery block set in the kitchen
2 of my grandfather's folders
then these can do all I need...

150 is way too much. I once had that mentality where i needed to collect as many as i can and I had about 30 knives until I realized I'd rather have quality than quantity.
now I have about 8-10 that I rotate. Anyways I think it's better to have let's say a sebenza then like 4 spydercos or benchmades

I currently have 14. I have one on the way (mora). Not including kitchen knives, of which mine aren't exactly fancy, nor are they "cheap junk."

I already feel like I have a few too many, but what I have is about right for me. (I am rapidly approaching a limit of what I feel like I could own and reasonably expect to find a use for.....and my hard limit is 20, after which if I ever reach, I will start selling off the cheaper/less useful, or relegating them to the "loaner" pile (if they don't have enough value to justify selling).

My goal is to have two sets of knives, and I've already sort of moved that direction. One set of knives that I use often, and one set that I reserve for specific uses (like hunting/skinning, or backpacking).

What I don't want is the third group: collectors only, no use. Now, I'm not talking down to collectors....your money.....if you enjoy it....more power to you. (I like knives, and I can see myself becoming a collector if I let myself....which is more why I have a "no safe queens" rule for any tool).

I say this because I have different preferences for those activities. I also don't like spending big $$ on a knife I'm going to beat around the house/city for tasks that aren't always of the cutting stuff category. If I'm in a city and bust a $25 knife, I just go get another out of the pile/store. If I'm in the woods, I carry/use more substantial blades that offer more durability because I can't easily get another, or carry another. Car camping being the exception to the rule due to the ability to bring a selection without weight penalty.

5 guns, 200+ knives, 20+ watches :D

Continuing conversation - what are the 8-10 you rotate? :D

I have 70 Zero Tolerance. Mostly folders but a few fixed. Trying to collect every production and LE model.

I have a few junk knives from years earlier and some more expensive semi-custom blades; Busse, Nemoto, SRKW, etc. But I have less than 150.
