how many knives do you own? What is your facination?

More than I reasonably need, and fewer than I actually want.

At his point, probably less than 30 folders, and 2 fixed blades. All production...I know this number will grow. I enjoy being able to change up my EDC, and honestly, they are all fun to fondle. :jerkit: All of my knives are "budget" folders though...Byrd, Spyderco Tenacious line, etc. On my current budget, I want to get as much for my money as possible, so I tend to look towards the cheaper though still high quality knives.

3.

DDR HTM Gunhammer 2 in s30v. Bill Coye Ridgeback in 154cm. Dirk Pinkerton Variable BroadHead in s30v. I've been in talks with Darrel for a custom one-off Gunhammer for quite some time now, so when that one gets finished, I'll give my HTM away to a close friend of mine.

He's a lucky bastard. When I got my Ridgeback, it replaced my Swamprat Swamp Warden, which he also got from me. As you can see, when I get a knew knife, an old one gets replaced.

I don't like to start collections. 3 is about the max for me. They are all users.

Bit of history in my progression. My first knife was a ZT 0350. I sold that one and upgraded to the HTM Gunhammer. Around that time I bought two Swamp Wardens and a Spyderco Street Beat. Sold one Swamp Warden because I didn't like thin handles. Gave the other one to my friend before he moved away due to unforeseen circumstances. Sold the Street Beat because it was more hype to me than what I was led to believe. My Coye Ridgeback replaced the Street Beat. I usually carry the HTM or the Ridgeback. The Pinkerton is there for when I want to carry something smaller and still have an edged tool for whatever needs worked on.

Funny...I went from one production knife (the ZT 0350) to a midtech knife (the HTM, which has workmanship equal to customs in my book), to a custom knife (the Ridgeback), to another custom (the Pinkerton), to my last knife purchase ever (yep, another custom, the one-off DDR...that will be my crown jewel).

EDIT: I forgot I had an Izula at one point, back when ESEE was still RAT Cutlery. I sold that one to get the Swamp Warden.

mostly single blades, a few multi-bladed slipjoints, a couple saks, a leatherman, a couple fixed blades. it's modest stash over all but it works.

8 Bark Rivers, 3 Spydercos, 2 Fallknivens, 2 Cold Steels, 1 Kabar and a partridge in a pear tree.

I hover around 40, I've been selling/trading the older ones to fund new ones for a while now. Really don't have much desire to own more than that.

NOT ENOUGH, to all those thinking u have to many pm me and I'll give my address and pay for shiiping

70 plus...All sorts and majority are good quality (in fact i have no JUNK knives)..My tastes have now turned to more traditional styles (slipjoints etc)....a wonderful obsession

Less than a dozen. I try to be more of a user than a collector. I have more custom knives than anything else.

Probably under twenty, about fifteen, I think. I am a big fan of form follows function, and to me, knives are a great medium to express that.

At the moment I own 14.

I own 10
nothing top of the line but decent and functional

I just like what i can do with a knife

I don't have a huge collection, but enough to know what I like.

I'm still in this game to find the "one" that will make all the others obsolete.
Many have given up, but I think it can be done. After the ZDP Caly 3 came out I pretty much stopped buying or carrying anything else in that size range.
Now I need to do that in the 4" category.

benchmade 710
spyderco military
2 cold steel recon 1
kershaw blur
buck 522
blackjack 1-7
bravo 1
fallkniven a1
fallkniven f1
cold steel srk san mai
cold steel recon scout

So 12 total. I feel I have WAY more than I would ever need. The only ones I plan on keeping are the 710,military,fallkniven f1&a1,and the bark rivers. Cold steel is good, but nothing compared to the other folders and fixed blades, and even with these 6 i have way more than I need. I could get away with just the f1 and my wetterlings.
