3.
DDR HTM Gunhammer 2 in s30v. Bill Coye Ridgeback in 154cm. Dirk Pinkerton Variable BroadHead in s30v. I've been in talks with Darrel for a custom one-off Gunhammer for quite some time now, so when that one gets finished, I'll give my HTM away to a close friend of mine.
He's a lucky bastard. When I got my Ridgeback, it replaced my Swamprat Swamp Warden, which he also got from me. As you can see, when I get a knew knife, an old one gets replaced.
I don't like to start collections. 3 is about the max for me. They are all users.
Bit of history in my progression. My first knife was a ZT 0350. I sold that one and upgraded to the HTM Gunhammer. Around that time I bought two Swamp Wardens and a Spyderco Street Beat. Sold one Swamp Warden because I didn't like thin handles. Gave the other one to my friend before he moved away due to unforeseen circumstances. Sold the Street Beat because it was more hype to me than what I was led to believe. My Coye Ridgeback replaced the Street Beat. I usually carry the HTM or the Ridgeback. The Pinkerton is there for when I want to carry something smaller and still have an edged tool for whatever needs worked on.
Funny...I went from one production knife (the ZT 0350) to a midtech knife (the HTM, which has workmanship equal to customs in my book), to a custom knife (the Ridgeback), to another custom (the Pinkerton), to my last knife purchase ever (yep, another custom, the one-off DDR...that will be my crown jewel).
EDIT: I forgot I had an Izula at one point, back when ESEE was still RAT Cutlery. I sold that one to get the Swamp Warden.
