I have owned over 227 (from customs to high end CRK and Striders to "low" end Gerbers and everything in between). My favorite 3 have been:

1. Victorinox Huntsman Lite
2. Spyderco Military
3. Cold Steel American Lawman

I've owned about 35-40 knives and my three favorites are:

2. ZT 0550
3. Kershaw Tilt
 
I don't have my list with me, probably between 80-100 total. Favorites are:

Microtech Mini Matrix
Benchmade Mini Grip
Spyderco Domino

...subject to change at any time for no apparent reason :)
 
Geez, I couldn't even say how many I've owned. I've run the gamut from production to midtech to custom.

My favorite 3 are:
-Microtech Socom Elite
-Fantoni Rumici Hide
-Southern Grinds Bad Monkey

Hard to narrow it to 3 but those would probably be on top or near the top.
 
I'm somewhere around 50 knives.

Favorites so far would be (in no particular order):

- Spyderco PM2
- Spyderco Sage 1
- Benchmade 710
 
Well I've had 41 knives but I've lost 2 (spyderco native mini grip tanto)
1.snody blue boss
2.alan davis misery whip blade (just got it what a piece of working art)
3. Pm2 orange
Hard to pick three because it will be a different list the next time.
 
I've owned around 40 or so, my 3 favorites are my old $12 rapala fisn'n knife that I restored of my fathers and had engraved with his name and birth/death dates, my Spyderco Sage 3 and whatever flavor of Benchmade mini-grip I like that day, currently I'd say my red handle/blade D2 blade 556 but it's quite often my flat ground 555(HG)
 
Wow, I've probably owned around 3 dozen knives. My top 3:

I've owned about 80 in my lifetime, favorite three are hard to chose. I'll split it into two categories, modern and traditional.

Modern, Top 3:

ZT 0200
BM Adamas
BM 300SN

Traditional:

Case TL-29
Waterville two blade jack in ebony (will show a pic later)
Russell Jack (again, will show pic later)
 
I've owned well over 200 knives, but haven't kept track as I've sold them off and bought new ones. My last count was 166.

I'm slowly shifting to quality over quantity. My favorites are:
Victorinox Tinker
Buck Vantage Pro
ZT0350CB
 
About 60 and favorite 3 non-customs (at the moment) spyderco Southard, sage 2, and enzo birk for folders. MT 17, survive GSO 4.1 and dpx heft 4 for fixed blades.

In 45 years and still today, over 4000.....

original 1 off lovelace boot knife, A Thomas Mauney Boker, German, both blades broken, T. mauney was my Grandfather,
1 off William Harsey prototype all ti ranger knife.. To me it's about the steel, this order Seki city Japan ats 34, Germany high carbon Puma Select, any USA very high carbon patina and pitted steel, and if you are ever lucky enough Cable steel by A.j. Lonewolf , GA. a master maker

I have owned over 150 personally and got so in to them I started selling them!

My top 3 currently of all time:

Folders; ZT 0301, ZT 0801 and my Sniper Bladeworks Mini LPC

Fixed Blades: Fiddleback Forge Sneaky Pete, Fletcher Knives Pro 6-5 and my ESEE 3!
