How many knives have you owned and whats your favorite 3

Between what I've sold here and what I own now, I'm somewhere in the 70 range.

My favorite three:

1. CRK Large Sebenza Insingo Micarta (that's a mouthful)
2. CRK Umnumzaan
3. Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in all it's sprint/exclusive option glory

I finally pulled the trigger on the Southard so we'll see how that goes, should be here tomorrow. By all accounts I shouldn't be disappointed.

Probably 100ish,

Top 3

Busse TGLB (no need for explanation)
Mantis Pit Boss (yes I said Mantis, best damn workhorse for working on the house)
Leatherman Sidekick (because it does everything a SAK does and has pliers)

Only about 26 knives

Favorite
1) Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21 Insingo
2) Spyderco Paramilitary 2
3) Benchmade Mini Grip

I've owned only about 20 knives, and most of these are European regional artisan knives.

Top three:
(1) Fantoni Hide
(2) Viper Keeper
(3) Fantoni HB01

I can't even begin to list the knives I've owned. Or still own.

But, my favorite 3 are:
1) Todd Davison handmade custom slip joint.
2) Sebenza 21 (yeah I'm cheating, large and small so squeezing an extra one in)
3) partially serrated vg10 delica.

That's tough. Also in running are benchmade mini barrage and Kershaw leek.

I've owned (in fact, I still own them all) over 60 knives, including a range of cheapo Gerbers and low-end Kershaws to a small Sebenza and a $5,000 Kressler custom. (Long story on that custom...)

The 3 "most useful" IMO are: Becker BK9, ESEE 6, Benchmade mini sheepsfoot Griptilian
The 3 "coolest" IMO are: ZT 350TS, Spyderco Chinook 3, Spyderco T-Mag
The 3 that I would never part with are: the D.F.K. custom sub-hilt fighter, small Sebenza w/custom graphic, Kershaw BLBW Skyline

I'm hoping to have a Spyderco WTC bump that BLBW Skyline. (Or at least I can dream...)

I own over a hundred (most knives I ever owned at one time was something like 140), and honestly, ALL of them have been "favorite" knives at one time or another (well except for some of knives I bought just to have, not to use). I carried American made Gerbers and thought they were the best. Then I carried American made Bucks and thought they were the best. Then Kershaw. Then I moved up to Benchmade. I carried an Axis assisted-open Tanto for something like two years off and on before it got kicked out of pocket by the Ontario Rat 1 of all things. Also, I was carrying ZT knives at that time. ZT, wow, they're like Kershaws! But better!* Then it was Spyderco.

One day I'll probably have a midtech, but right now, all of my needs are met by the knives I have now. Most of the things I still want, I want primarily for collector pieces. Out of production Spydercos, things like that.

*Yes, I know that ZT knives are made by Kershaw.

I currently count around 41 plus or minus a couple knives, not including MTs, of which I own 10. 95% of these were acquired in the past 1.5 years. Man did I get real sick, real fast.

Favorite folder is the Strider SMF because I can thump on it. I can probably thump on the Sabenza 25, but I do not want to. Too pretty, too slick and too much refined quality.

Favorite small fixed blade, for now at least, is the Bark River Knives North Star EDC. Four finger grip. 3.375" of CPM 3V that is .125" thick and completely concealable in my front pocket. This little knife has displaced every folder that I own, for now at least. I also carry a Gunny 3V Hunter (rampless) for defensive purposes in strong side hip pocket. I probably will never go back to folders as even the smallest of fixed blades that I own are stronger than any of the folders that I own.

Favorite mid-sized fixed blade is the Survive GSO 5.1. I carry the GSO 4.1 more on the weekends and such, but when I take to the woods the 5.1 is on my side. I find it much more capable if thumping is going to save my life. I carry the GSO 7.7 with a false grind on my load bearing vest when tactical games are being played, but it is larger and heavier knife than the 5.1 for belt carry, and provides little to no further utility compared to it. My go to belt carry is the 5.1, but the 7.7 would be the better fighting knife. Since I try not to fight, I stand by my pick.

I am getting today or tomorrow the GSO 10. I anticipate that after receiving this knife that I would have to remove all folders from my list, and populate my top three favorite knives with fixed blade knives. In fact currently, my top three favorites are likely fixed blades, but I added folders for completeness.

I've owned around 50 over the few years since I got into knives, anything from entry level Kershaws to customs.

Top three as of right now would be...

1. Pohan Leu Bluephin
2. Charlie Edmondson Pocket Cleaver
3. Josh Mason Kwaiken

Over 150, most of them folders, almost all folders in the $150-$400 range.
Spyderco PM2
