How many knives made daily?...

As for the Opinels, I may be able to answer that. It's a consumable knife : very thin blade, bolsterless handle... It's made for everyday folks who use their knives for just about anything no knife nut would ever dare. Despite its great abilities, such a knife can be ruined quickly. It's cheap so they just buy another one without even giving a thought about their stupidity (the knife nut speaks....).

I hope GEC wont grow too big and loose quality. Off course I don't want them to go bankrupt either.

GEC knives are great and I hope they'll remain that way. It's always sad when good companies mess up and loose quality.

Over twenty years ago, I lived in Spain for a year, I saw tons of Opinel and Victorinox knives. Maybe it was because Spain was a neighbor to France? Of course Victorinox was worldwide then. Don't know where all those knives are going but the Spanish liked them at that time.
I was surprised to hear Case made that many knives. I kinda figured GEC didn't make that many.

In my opinion, for GEC to have remained in business producing the number of knives they do they must be a well managed company with hard working and very dedicated employees. I wonder if they are currently producing at full capacity with the facility and equipment they have.
