i tried one, it's a lot different than making a 14" bowie! it's tough trying to make it proportioned correct. maybe i'll try another say a 4" bowie. i got alot of big knives to make though.
I've made only two so far, and I'm inclined to agree with Barry regarding the relaxation factor. I'd like to e-mail you a picture of the bowie I did with ivory handle and blued steel fittings. You have some pictures of yours?
Hello Ron, sure, I'd like to see the pics, and I've yet to take pictures of mine but I will do it soon, one I really like is a persian fighter made out of Tim Zowada damascus and ebony handles, and just because I was really bored at the time I forged and edge packed it.
Man, when you make them small, you really make them small! I haven't figured out how to post a picture on the forum, but I'll e-mail you one with an attachment.
Ron
I have made 2 miniartures so far. Its pretty funny but I like a knife to be usuable so I probably wont make more.
This on is a copy of the womens knife in the viking age.The black thing is the cover for my camera.
When I make a mini I usualy make a little Keyring sheath for it fer scratching lottery ticket's and such or digging out splinter's

If any one has any interest in these miniatures give me a shout, I've got lots of scraps to play with, I just might make some more if there's enough interest.
