How many multi-tools do you need?

I like the Charge, mostly, but it definitely could be better. Getting rid of the tiny screwdriver and replacing it with an awl is something I'm working on. I've got security Torx bits to take my Charge apart, and an awl blade on order from SOG. It appears as if the SOG awl will fit right in, but I may have to widen the blade lock notch. I'll let you guys know how it works.

Okay, sorry to take this thread off track. Please continue.......:)

Bob,

Are there any tools from Victorinox knifes that can be converted to the SOGs that you know of?

Bob, can you please provide the link where I can order tools from SOG? Couldn't find it in their website. And do they ship to Australia?

I was not able to find a link on SOG's website for spare parts either. I got the following info from the instructions that came with my PowerLock. I telephoned SOG direct, but I see there is also an email address.

When it comes to changing blades on a multi tool, SOG is the easiest with their hex bolt construction. The Leatherman tools with the Torx fasteners aren't too bad either, once you get the 5 or 6-point security bit.

But the Victorinox Swisstool and Spirit don't come apart, because they are pinned and riveted. I wish they wouldn't do that. :(

Thanks a lot Bob!

I have two SOG powerwlocks that I cutomized with the blades and tools that I wanted. But they are all SOG parts.. I aslo have the little wrenches that SOG sent me to take the SOG apart. Now I want to fool with it more by putting better tool implements inside of the SOG.

What I meant by Vic parts... was from the old Vic knife like a tinker or soldier (not from the swisstool/Spirit multitool). I would want the can opener the most but having the main spearpoint balde or other tools in the SOG would be a blast. Don't you think?

Just wondering of anyone has taken these off and tried to cutomize them to fit the sog or if it is even possible. Maybe the Vic tools are to short(?)

I only have one. My Swiss Tool. Its all I've ever needed and it takes whatever I throw at it. I doubt being able to take it apart would be an advantage to me. I think they got it right as is.

You guys put me over the edge. I was looking at the Swisstool with ratchet for a bit now to rotate EDC duties with my Leatherman Charge. Now that you guys *convinced* me, I'm ordering one:D.
