How many of you have the sprint run tenacious?

That Chokwe is beautiful. So is that Para 2 red digi cam, is that custom or am I just a Spyderco noob and never knew about it?

Anyone experiencing a slight squeaking when closing the blade? I am, and it's driving me nuts. I oiled it,but its still there.

Probably the line rubbing on the side of the blade tang. Taking it apart probably wouldn't help unless you polished the surfaces that rub. Or you can open and close it many times until it wears in, that might help.

my first tenacious

good QC the blue g10 is well finished I don't think it is as grippy as the g10 on my manix

Thanks, I've been opening and closing it, but not a lot. I'll work on that when I get back on Tuesday. I'm not too keen on taking it apart.

In the meantime I've got my zdp dragonfly and my para 2 to keep me company. :D

Thanks bro-ham:thumbup: The chokwe has seen better days for sure but it still is quite a looker. The para 2 has been dyed red with RIT dye (You can get it at your grocery store for like 2 bucks.)I also dyed my green tenacious a wine red color.

Here's CrimsonWrath and The Bleeder.

I just got a green Tenacious and mine is doing it too. I am sure it is the liner rubbing the blade. If you hold the liner lock all the way out of the way, the blade no longer squeaks.

Always liked the tenasious but didn't buy it till the green one came out. Now I also have the blue and will soon have the black one.

I love your Rit dye jobs! I wonder why more people don't try Rit dying. Planning on dying my Manix 2 XHP sprint blue soon, just have to figure out if I want to grove out around the ball bearing lock to make it easier to open or not first.

I have the same problem with my all black tenacious. I oiled mine as well and it only temporarily stopped the squeaking. I tried taking it apart, but I had one stubborn body screw that didn't want to come out and I decided to put it back together instead of taking the chance of stripping the screw. The only way I've found to combat the squeaking is to just close the knife more slowly.

Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it:thumbup: definitely groove it out prior to dying or you'll have a round blue spot on your handles.

Actually, what I meant was do I even want to grove the G10 at all... Since I don't want to change my mind after I dye it. But I do have a dying question, do you think the Paramilitary 2 with the black blade and the darker G10 digicam look good dyed red? Well, worried that it would look more like you tenacious and I would like more of a bright red color, like The Bleeder.

I had an early tenacious sorta like that, it felt like the dimple on the lock bar was riding super hard on the blade tang. What was weird was if I left the Tenacious alone for a while, it would flip good a couple times then go back to being bad... It got better after a while.

I believe they use the same digi g10 on all of the models. I think the one you saw (Or have) just had some more dark green in the pattern (the pattern is always random). The reason the Tenacious is darker is because the original green scale was darker and pasty-er (That's a word now) than the Para, and I used a little more dye with the Tenny. You only need to pour a tiny bit of dye in the water to get a nice color (In my experience). I have really been wanting to see a black blade/Digi scale Para dyed red or blue. I hope this answers your question.

Yes, thanks very much! And I concur about a black blade with a red or blue dyed digicam.

I don't quite like that green color but I do have the blue and it is beautiful. It was my first spyderco too.
