How Many of You Use Your Buck Pocket Knife on Steak?

I have used my 110 on steak. But, I am more likely to use a 302. That thing will go through a steak like a hot knife through butter.

I don't set out to use a pocketknife or 110 on a steak - but if it needs one, I'll use whatever knife I have on me at the time. OH

I snapped out my 110 Auto last week eating prime rib. My wife is at the point where she just rolls her eyes. :p

I always know that what's in my pocket is sharper than what's there, so I use my folders to cut food all the time. Sometimes it's whatever buck I'm carrying , a Victorinox, or an old carbon steel imperial.

People use their own pool ques at the pool hall, their own bowling balls at the bowling alley, musicians bring their own microphones to a gig and play their own instruments. This my friends, is a likely sign of a true professional.
You need to wait until the waiter/waitress is at the table delivering the food and then pull out a walnut box with brass hardware lined inside with deer hide and slowly pull out the Buck as the employee watches in amazement. Then they will know who they are dealing with. That steak better be cooked as ordered! :)

pjsjr, I'm pretty sure that no one would bat an eye at that steakhouse east of Elizabeth on the way to Kiowa. It might take the fun out of it.

horseman1, you're a local:thumbup:. I'm sure it's been done there more than once. Preston

I think I'll go to a fancy restaurant, order a large steak or prime rib, and then whip out a 120 or 124 when they bring the order.

If I know I'm going out for steak I'll leave the 124 at home and take a 118 (maybe a 121 if I'm hungry and getting a really big steak).

I've even used a peanut to cut steak at a restaurant because their knives were so dull. My wife absolutely hates it when I do that, probably because I have zero discretion as to how nice the place is when I do it.

EDIT: Should probably add the specific Buck knives I've used to cut steak at restaurants- 310 whittler, 110's, chairman series 302 Solitaire.

My late father always carried a Camillus 3 blade stockman. He used it if he ate steak in a restaurant. When he lost it, he replaced it with a Buck stockman. Having false teeth, he cut up a lot of his food.

I hope you guys keep your knives clean, I can only imagine how much pocket lint gets digested. :barf:

For 2 bills you can get the Buck cutlery set in paperstone and save the cotton calories.

We went to dinner with some friends tonight. My friend didn't like the steak knife and couldn't find his pocket knife, so I lent him my 303. It worked fine.

I've been watching this topic develop and trying to recall the last time we had a steak or went out for a steak and I can't. It's been too many years ago.
Mak, we have the same set of Buck kitchen knives you show. Ours have paperstone handles. I got them for my wife in 2009. They have been a good set. DM
