how many of you

i gotta say i'm with big mike here, moras just dont float my boat either....so, no moras are not sole users for me. They see duty about twice a year, usually gutting fish and cutting fish heads/tails off....or i loan them out to non knife users. I just cant bring myself to using them for bushcraft duties.....they just feel, cheap , to me.

That's because they are ;).
I think some people tent to dislike the Mora because they feel they have no soul, feels cheap or just isn't nice like other knives.

I think that Mora's are one of the few knives that, is just a knife, it is not a piece of jewelry. Like a more expensive knife (Barkie, busse, Rat and alot more ).
These are good knives, but they are also jewelry for men. Unlike the Mora where you most certainly would not have a person go "Wow that's a nice knife you got there, what did that cost you ?" When you pull it out and they see it for the first time.

Does it make me an outcast if I say I don't own one, never have, and don't plan on to?

Will do - I just says "I don't play to" not "I won't" :)

I'm no knife snob by any means :)

I find them no better or no worse then some other low cost knives out there.
I have a clipper now but don't use it much at all.
I'd rather pay $20 for a wally world buck then $15 for a mora based on the sheath alone.

Grew up with mora, grohmann and solingen knives. Mora's are one of the best bang for your buck anywhere. Laminated carbon for 14$.... awesome! BUT they are always my back up food prep and woodcraft/carving knives. In the bush I carry a larger bowie of many styles and an RC-3 plus a mora#1 in laminate and a mora spoon/carving knife.

Hell, I might have one laying around that I could shoot ya to use for a test-drive. I will have to do some digging. I picked up a few from here, udtjim and others, and have been giving them to the non-knife types and friends who I think will probably lose them.

As far as the OP: No, I hardly use a fixed blade. I carry my Mora or my Roach Belly, but the various SAK's seem to get the most action.

mora #2, I carry it as a necker with my firesteel, have it on me all the time, be for car rides, hikes or walking the dog.. it goes everywhere..
