kamagong is correct about the kukri, it will out chop any hatchet ever made. the only downside is the kukri weight.--dennis
 
A small sharp hatchet and a Large Stockman would offer plenty of cutting edges.

Fact is, most people take far too much kit with them on trips and it becomes an annoyance and a burden, literally.
 
So I was bored tonight and realized I hadn't made fuzz sticks or fire in a while. So I went downstairs, got a piece of palm tree for a base, a few sticks I found on the ground, and with a match I did this. I think I would do fine with a hatchet to break up large pieces of wood to make kindling.

My SAK Farmer is convexed and was amazing as usual. The 6347 and 8OT both were awesome. I would be happy with either one in my pocket.
