How many Oz of knive(s) do you EDC?

Candidly? No idea. I usually carry two, sometimes three knives on my person. It's simply not a metric that I've ever bothered with. I carry what I like, and to be honest, I really don't understand the whole need to know what a knife weighs. I see folks talking about "Oh man, I want to like this knife, but it's one or two more ounces than my preferred carry weight" and I'm just .

Not counting large fixed blades (Bowie knives and machetes and such), the heaviest is my Leatherman Super-Tool 300 at just under 10 oz.

up until recently, I only carried the Domino at 4.2 oz

picked up a kizer mini beglieter and like the little guy, so I'm up to 6.57 oz these days

I'm with you. I really had no idea up until this morning. This thread just made me curious and was an excuse to take a knife picture. :) But it's never been a factor for me.

12-16 oz usually.

One folder usually 3 to 6 oz
LM Wave = 8.5 oz + sheath

I'm not an ounce counter. I carry about 280 lbs on a 6'8" frame. Me no worry about a 6 oz folder.

On a standard day, the knife weight is only a tad over 26.4 ounces, not counting sheaths
Kabar 1255 - 6.4
Kabar 1257 - 6.08
BK11 - 2.4
Buck 501 - 3
Buck 424 - 3.1
ProTech TR4 - 5.5

Working around the farm, then 1 of the Kabars will get replaced with 1 of these, so the total would change by those amounts
Kabar 1217 - 11.2 -- adds 4.8
BK7 - 13.6 -- adds 7.2
BK9 - 16.8 -- adds 10.4

At churches, funerals and weddings, the Kabars are replaced with a pair of Kabar 1227s, which are 1.7 ounces each.

The total weight doesn't bother me as it is distributed in 4 pockets and 2 on the belt, and since I carry the same things nearly every day, it's my normal.

I think we've found a heavyweight champion! :eek::p:D:cool::thumbsup:

I carry a large Crk and a Alox electrician every day. Roughly 5 ounces and 2.5 ounces I believe, could be wrong. So about 7.5 each day
I keep forgetting about the Alox electrician
Pretty sure of what my next knife is now too ;)
I do HVAC and electrical work so I bet this will be a nice thing to keep in the pocket as a backup :D
:)Thanks for reminding me!

It’s real handy. The sheepsfoot and the flathead/prybar are the two main things I use. In a pinch it does the job

And the awl / reemer is the best in the biz, different than most others in the lineup, can act as a bladed edge for tougher materials where you may not want to muck up your main blade and it's also the best Ferro rod spark thrower.

But yeah... That sheepsfoot is indeed the most perfect little box cutter / opener.:thumbsup:

Great ergos using it.

I pretty much ignore weigh . A good belt negates weight in all but the heaviest area . I carry a 365 everyday, so knife weight is negligible. I normally carry a Spyderco Smock or Shaman and an Old Timer my grandpa gave me in my back pocket.

I’ll use the sheepsfoot when I don’t have an insingo on me. Mainly for stripping smaller jacketed cable or wire, drop point Crk can be used but not the most effective on small wire like the sheepsfoot or Insingo. I’ve never really used the awl/reamer. May have to check that out. If I’m skinning wire I’ll just use my Crk. Or if reaming conduit I just use my reamer screwdriver.

I'm more impressed by the routine carry of 6 knives than I am by the weight. I routinely carry 3... often 4, if the weather merits a jacket. Occasionally, I end up with 5 (when I grab one on my way out the door, without checking coat pocket); but I usually feel self-conscious when I figure it out.
