How many people now carry because of you?

Went to work and heard the old familiar "snap" of a folder opening up, looked behind me and one of my employee's was standin there with a smile from ear to ear. He had that day purchased a folder from some flea-market cause he had seen me use my knife on a daily basis. It made me think of all the people that I am around that now carry because of me, wife, father-in-law, couple of good friends, hell even my mom. Wondering if anyone else has been "spreading the gospel"? Now all I have to do is find some nice way to explain to him that my BM975sbt(what I have been using lately) is different from his $25 knife!! Hahaha

Lay his down on a solid surface and chop the blade off it with the 975.

Actually, think about all the fun he's going to have, learning the difference little by little.

Carrying knives is certainly contagious. Now, two of my friends have started carrying one on the daily basis and they do not regret it

While she didn't like them initially, my girlfriend now carries a CRKT Urban Shark in her handbag. After listening to me wax lyrical about my knives, she now knows the difference between $100 production knives and the $5 'Brand X' knives from the hardware store.

However, having seen what she does with her CRKT (e.g. dislodge a stone from her sandals), my only worry is she's looking real suspiciously at my Elishewitz Cortex. No! Its mine, I tell you... MINE!

Not exactly carry; But there are those who use much better kitchen knives now than they used to, sort of thanks to me.

I got my mother and Father, and numerous Friends. At first they thought I had some issues but they have all come around to my way of life. They carry Benchmades, and coldsteel.

Three of my good friends carry now. One of them a large Benchmade Stryker, the other two carry Benchmade 42's. No need to explain quality blades to them!!

A whole bunch of them. Benchmade owes me a fortune. If I could only get a commission.....you know, like when you get $50 from a car dealer for recommending them to someone who ends up buying one of their cars?
What I really hate is when you influence someone you know to get into knives and they start buying stuff that's nicer than yours. Ouch!
Really, though, you gotta love to see other people getting into La Cosa Nostra (uh, I mean, "this thing of ours"

Wow, I never thought of this, but ALL of my friends are now 'knife guys.' Funny, most of them carry knives they bought from me. ("But I want YOURS--yours is sharp...") As for commissions, yeah, Tony Marfione and Ben Dale owe me a bunch--I'll take it in knives...--OKG

I absolutely love getting people into knives. It is such a rich, enlightening, educating hobby. That is why I got into the selling end. I NEED to spread knives. I feel that I am the Johnny Appleseed of cutlery

out of the people that I know, I have personally converted my Brother, brother inlaw, father, uncle, and 8 friends. That number grows daily. If it stopped, I would wither away

I have even been known to just give knives away. Not the best way to make money, but sometimes I can't help it.

I wouldn't say I converted non-carriers to carriers, but I know that my dad & 2 brothers have been "shown the light" when it comes to their hunting knives. My dad, for example, had been carrying a United hunting knife, circa 1950's, since he was a teenager. The thing had been sharpened so many times it looked like a fillet knife. I picked up a Blackjack Trailguide for him right before they disappeared. I'm also responsible for the Browning and Marbles knives my brothers carry. All say they'd never go back to the cheap POS they used to have.

Let's see, about five people at work, two friends and my sister. They do not all carry what I would consider quality knives, but they do have a knife clipped into their pocket most of the time now. I also have an uncle and a cousin that carry Enduras they received from me as gifts.

hey MartialWay, I don't think I'm totally convinced of the practicality of knives. Could you 'evangelize' ME with some free blades ?

Mom - Appreciates having the kitchen cutlery actually being sharp.

Dad - Swiss Army Pocket Pal (I gave to him because he pointed out that every man should have a pocket knife... and that he didn't... then stared at my Swiss Army Pocket Pal)

Brother - EDI Genesis II, Black Blade, Plain Edge. I half gave this away and half sold it. He loaned me money long ago and so I just gave it to him and we called it more or less even.

One of my Greek friends - S&W SWAT (beginner's knife, sold to him because I didn't want anything S&W anymore due to their agreement with the Clinton fascists). He now is looking for a Benchmade.

My other friend who is minorly pedophile - Benchmade 910BT, Gerber EZ-Out, Leatherman PST II. His first knife was an EZ-Out I sold to him for $10. He went and picked up a Leatherman PST II shortly after, and then bought my 910BT.

My other friend who left to go to college - Gigand Summit and CRKT Point Guard, both of which I sold him. He also bought a Lansky that I was selling real cheap when I was getting my Edge Pro Apex. He originally carried a dulled Victorinox tool, but has since moved on to single blade one-handers due to those two knives that he bought from me. He's now saving up for the BM-3550 automatic.

One of my Asian yellow fellows - CRKT Neck Peck, he wanted a knife, and I needed lunch money. He carries it sheathed in his pocket now and uses it for light cutting chores. He is very pleased with it and he once said, "it is sharp, I have to be very careful not to cut myself!"

My other yellow fellow - He bought my CQC-7B plain edge shortly after I bought it from MJ&S Knives (like 3 days after I bought it). He saw my knives and thought they were so cool and he immediately had to have one. This was during his orientation to our college (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign). He carries that CQC-7 everywhere now.

The list is still growing. There are some other people who got into balisongs because they watched me opening the mail, but they don't carry.
