How many folks flip their clips to where the knife is point up in your pocket so you can also use a lanyard?

I see this as something I may want to try; but don't want a stab to the private parts! :O

Post up pictures, opinions if you've flipped your clips!

The only folder I carry tip down is my PM2. That one just seems to work better that way. The rest are carried tip up.

Depends on the knife. If I have the choice I prefer tip down.
Sebenzas don't offer that option, and it doesn't bother me at all.

I carry tip up and tip down. Bigger blades work better tip up so you can open them without needing to re-position.

I carry tip up or tip down; either way is fine by me. I don't change a a knife, never have.

Tip up, or I don't own the knife.....
Can't stand pocket clips that are in the same location as my first two fingers.

I personally find it interferes with my ability to control the knife the way I like, more annoying than anything.

I find it's just big knives like military that need to be down. And that has such a huge handle the clip isn't crowding me.

Where are your private parts???? How is that going to stab them? Tip up is the only way I carry when I have a choice.

As Benchmade says in their literature, the spine of the blade should be against the seam of your pocket. It won't come open this way. I prefer tip up but it is not a deal breaker, though the perks of a tip down knife need to be pretty good.

tip up keeps the blade against the seam of your pocket so its less likely to open in your pocket compared to tip down.

Makes sense... I was wondering why the lanyard holes are "Always on the wrong end of the knife?!" :P

I flip every knife tip up. The blade sits against the pocket with no chance to open.

Tip up for life!

Honestly, I go through phases. I much prefer tip up carry, but I'll make the occasional exception. Right now I'm back to being addicted to pocket opening devices, so it's all tip up all the time.

I recently just had to sell off a really great knife because it could only be carried tip down.
I have found that tip up allows me to retrieve the knife from my pocket in a way that gives me the most natural finger placement for one handed opening.
For tip down, I have found that I have to rotate the knife about 180 degrees to then open the knife. Why would someone choose that? Never mind the fact that tip down, puts the lanyard hole on the wrong end as well for a lot of knives.
