How many Persians were made?

The title says it all...

I was wondering... it seams as though they dropped the Persian from the 2006 catalogue and "replaced" it with the new smaller Persian and the Kris knife.

So that got me thinking, does anybody know how many of the original plain blade full size Persian were made?

No idea, but I'd like to know what percentage of them I own:cool:

The Persian's been around since 2004, and it's not like it was a slow seller(I don't think it was anyway) so it had to be at least a couple runs.

Of the ridiculous amount I have, there's at least 3 different production codes. One from July 2004(GD), one from May 2005(EE), and one from October 2005(JE, which was the final run).

I find it hard to believe one run lasted almost an entire year, and I don't know exactly when it came out, so I would expect around 4 or 5 runs, if not more. Seki models are runs of 1200(I think) so that's around 4800-6000 knives.

Of course I'm just crunching numbers, and really I have no idea what I'm talking about, so I could be horribly wrong. Wait til Sal, Kristi or Carlos stop by, they'll know.

They may be a little while responding, they're likely gearing up for all the shows coming up in the near future.

"smcfalls13", do you want to sell one of your Persians? I do not have one and, would like to add one to my collection (my newly started collection).

I agree, aside from "limited production" models where the run size is one of the selling points, and a few very small "trials" I tend to think they might not wish to reveal that information. On the other hand, I can vouch for the current locations of six of them. :D

I don't know. It is probably priviledged info. Ed could say if it is okay to do so.
