How many pocket knives is too many knives in one pocket?

one in pocket. 710. One on belt. leatherman. Any more than that and I don't have room for my treo, wallet, keys. I don't like to jingle.

Okay, I thought I was The Only One Who Did That.

When I'm around the house in my jammies, I have a Victorinox Super Tinker and Buck 110 in my shorts pocket, plus a Camillus Heat clipped inside the same pocket.

When I leave the house, my current knife complement (in addition to my insanely long list of other gear) includes:

  • Schrade 8OT stockman in watch pocket
  • Benchmade Fecas Snipe clipped in right front pocket
  • Right cargo pocket has a pocket organizer with a Vic Explorer and a Cold Steel Large Voyager
  • Cold Steel large Voyager in right rear pocket
  • Spyderco Endura clipped to left front pocket; Victorinox Explorer Plus inside of same pocket
  • Benchmade Ambush clipped inside left cargo pockets
  • Leatherman Supertool on belt

Looking at my list, I only have two pockets with more than one knife. Maybe you do only need two . . . PER POCKET! :D

Yes, I do.

Some of the redundancy is entirely intentional. Some of it is that I have a decision making disorder, so instead of choosing A, B, or C, I choose "Yes."

For me though, one good 3- or 4-inch folder in my front right pocket is all I need.

I either carry my multi-tool(LM charge ALX, Swisstool/Spirit) in a sheath or clipped to my rf pocket, I also have a Swisscard Lite in my wallet, and a folder of some kind (BM 530, Kershaw leek, waved delica 4 or Vic OHT) which I keep in my rf pocket also.

Right front - Ultimate Pen Knife on key ring, Featherlite (K-93). Left front - Tiny Titanium Lockback (2 1/2 closed) Right hip - William Henry button lock, titanium mammoth.

While I have been known to carry up to 5 knives at a time, I almost never put two in the same pocket. I have often carried one flat knife (Mercator) behind my wallet, a small scout knife inside my pocket survival kit, a box cutter behind that kit in my back pocket. A sak in my left front pocket and a 4-inch automatic in my right front pocket.

Beyond this I get more creative. I have carried a neck knife clipped inside the back of my collar and an automatic up my sleeve on an elastic magicians hold-out.

My most unique pocket utilization was when I cut out the inside of my right front pants pocket and strapped a Sykes Fairbairn dagger to my thigh. It really turns heads when you pull an 8-inch dagger out of your pants pocket. You don't even have to pull two out of the single pocket to make an impression.

I got "out-knifed" once, back in the mid 1990s by a 13 year old. I was working behind the counter at a gun shop, and a buddy of mine brough another friend and his 13 year old son. They asked me how many knives I had on me, and I estimated. They told me the kid had more on him, so we laid them all on the counter. He won!

It's a little late for the rematch, but I think I might have him now. :D

how much is too much? How about when you are on COPS and the officer keeps pulling knife after knife out of your pockets, filling the hood of their car. For me I carry one multi tool for work or on my days off a single lock blade blade length is 3.5 inches

I have an opinel #10 front left , bone handled damascus folder front right , Okapi stainless folder in the built in sheath on my belt on the left , okapi 907e in the slide on pouch on the right .

GIve me choice of flashy upper class type knife when I wanna be the guy who uses a damascus folder for EDC

or a Okapi lock knife for abusive work , my Opinel for just slicing , man it slices GOOD too

or the little sheeple friendly Okapi with the Ciol blade if I am in company of folk who scare easy ...

right now the , the opinel looks like being rretired for a while at least , my damascus one slices s good maybe better and has a stronger blade too ...

As teens a couple friends and I were stopped by the cops across the street from the local Tastee Freeze. They did construct a pile of knives on the hood of the patrol car, most of which qualified as illegal "switchblades" by California law. We hadn't really been doing anything worse than setting off firecrackers so when they got a hot call from dispatch they took the knives and left us with a warning. The funny thing is that they missed another half dozen blades in their search. That included one small switchblade, a box cutter, a texas jack, an 8-inch dagger, a 10 inch throwing spike and a straight razor. It was a good thing the stop didn't happen on zip gun day.

I tend to carry one clipped on my front left pocket, and one in my right cargo pocket ( crkt m16-13 and crkt my tighe, respectively) also, I carry the little SAK on my keychain, which goes in the right front pocket.
sometimes I skip the cargo pocket knife, but theres always one on the left pocket.

Victorinox Spirit on belt, Bark River Mini Canadian in pocket, Swiss-tech Utili-key on key ring.

Two knives. My Benchmade 710 D2 in the strongside pocket, and the $3.98 Gander Mountain bin special, which I call "The Loner". That way I don't have to say no when people ask to borrow my knife, and I don't have to worry about them using it as a pry-bar or screwdriver.
