How many Rat trap prototypes were made??

Search not being much help tonight.....I have a Rat trap Prototype (stamped on blade, large choil) and was wondering how many of these beasts were ever made? Any body got any ideas?? Squeak now!! :p
 
I can't remember how many were made, but I know where at least two of them are. :D If I had to bet I would guess under a couple of dozen. Actually the number 8 comes to mind, but I can't remember what Jerry told me.
