I've been following a thread in the General Forum and thought a traditional variation would be interesting. So, how many slippies do you own? I have about 35. With 3 more in transit.:D

About 30, give or take. Thanks in a large part to trying to figure out what works best for me. I'm finally staring to get a handle on that. Its only taken 37 years.:o

Boy, I am way off with you guys. I would say 250 slippies and about 50 fixed blades, 99% traditonal. My wife thinks I have too many, hopefully someone will chime in with twice as many knives as me.

Or maybe I really am crazy.

Wow - I didn't think I had that much until I started thinking about it.

I don't know... I've never broken down the numbers by style or type. Between the Old Timer Collection, small collection of vintage Bruckmann knives, and others I'd guess 100 to 150-ish.

I started thinking about actual knives and have come to the conclusion that its more like 60, give or take. They kind of creep up on you, don't they?

Add in lockbacks, sheath knives and modern folders and the number gets a lot bigger. I'm starting to feel a bit buried. And I have another one coming from ebay.

Hmmm. I knew it wasn't many, but thought it was more than this.

18 here+ 2 on the way= 20 slipjoints. 23 or 24 with the lockbacks. I only have about 10 or 12 fixed, and only 1 you might not call traditional.... OK, OK..... The Case russlock technically has a locking liner, but it also has the slip joint spring; So I counted it as a slip joint.

Somewhere between more than I should and less than Charlie. :D.
At one time, well over 1000 but I saw the errors of my ways after reading the minimalist threads and paired it down to less than 500. ;)

I am a user not really a collector. So when I notice that knives are not being used I trim down my knife box by gifting them to family and friends.:)

Between my buying and "purging" I usually hover between 40-50 knives at any one time.
