How Many Times a Day Do You "DO IT"

Generally I go at least a week before I find a use for a knife. I am very interested in them and even have bought a few nice ones int he past few months, but I just don't see myself spending much more on something I hardly see myself using. I'm not gonna go out of my way to find uses for em just so I can have more stuff in my pockets and go through more hassle at work, airports, with cops etc. At work I use a blade numerous times, but I have a box cutter they gave me that works great for the tasks I do there. If it wasn't for that job though, I'd have very little reason to ever have a pocket knife on me, which is why I don't really have an EDC, just a small folder I bring with me if I'm going somewhere It hink I might need it. Generally though, I end up not needing it at all and it only weighs me down.

It varies depening on whether I am working or not but it seems that I end up using a knife every day.

Today I used it a few times at to cut some plastic straps and remove flaps from boxes. I also used it as a substitute pair of scissors on paper as I often do. I trimmed a loose thread. At home I broke down a couple of boxes for recycling and opened letters. I also cut the middle finger on my left hand. I've cut this finger a number of times and slammed it in a heavy door once. I think that I flipped too many people off with it in a past life.

I cut down several boxes a day... and sometimes I feel silly using my $100+ pocket knife to cut a few pieces of tape holding a box together

Today I actually put it to good use. One of my cashiers was wearing a new pair of pants and she forgot to cut off the little plastic thing that holds the tags on (she's not too bright)... so I cut those off for her.

The knife left my pocket maybe four times in eight hours at work tonight.

Can't you just pull those things apart? That's what I've always done. Seems like it'd be quicker than whipping out a knife to do it.

I am a receiving inspector, so I get to open a lot of boxes whilst at work. Also cutting shrink wrap off pallets. I use a Kershaw black Leek for most of this. At home opening mail or boxes containing new knives or flashlights.:D
Funny thing is that where I work, they have a no weapons policy( which I was told included knives). Practically everyone who works there has a knife clipped to their pocket or on their belt, including my stupervisor and non-leadman. We sit around in the office and sharpen our knives.
Oh Well!!

Usually two to four times a day. Somebody wants to use mine about once a week or so, too.
