How many times have you been cut by your knives?

I love this thread. At least I know I'm not alone. When white ceramic and leather strops became the norm, so did Band-Aids I'm afraid!!

I have a Cold Steel Voyager XL that I've had for roughly a month. The blade lock release is a little tough to operate. I made the mistake of leaving my right index finger wrapped around the bottom of the knife as I went for a better grip. Obviously as I pressed the spine release the blade rotated smack into and through the finger stopping at the bone. The only thing that saved me from needing stitches was that the finger was bent in such a way that the finger split between the top of the nail and the first joint where no bending occurs. Shot a lot of blood, but once I got it to stop bleeding she healed up nicely after a couple of weeks. I did have to get a tetanus shot. STUPID. There have been a slew of these shall I refer to as incidents through the years.

Let me see now...one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Ran out of fingers.
:)

It's been a while, but I accidently cut myself a few days ago while fondling my Buck Vantage Pro. I've been opening and closing it a few times, put in in my pocket again and a few minutes later I noticed my thumb was bleeding and it had a shallow cut. Didn't even notice it right away. That s30v sure is sharp, gets sharp and stays sharp for quite some time.

I've lost track of the cuts/scars from my own knives...and all the dumba** ways I did it. Here's a pic of the last cut I received, more of a stab. Fortunately it has healed w/o any drama.

I've poked myself a few times while mindlessly playing with CRKT M16, but not too badly. I stabbed my friend's couch once when I was playing with the CRKT too. I was laying on his couch drunkenly flipping it open when I dropped it. It landed close to the couch, while picking it up I accidentally drove it about an inch into the couch.

I nicked the inside of my cheek with my BM530 while eating a yam at a buddy's house at 2am. Not one of my smarter moves.

Nicks and scrapes? countless times, have some now. Really bad cuts? probably countless times too lol

Cut myself whittling yesterday. Was the first bite in a good many months. I've been cut quite a few times, especially when I first got into knives. Never anything as bad as the OP, though... some of those were cringeworthy! Hoping to never give myself stitches.

Honestly, I have no idea how many times, and my brain hurts to think about it :D. SAKs seem to cut me the most, followed by Izulas.

Cut badly? Twice.

Both times with my Tenacious, effin around too much. Entirely my fault. One of those times, I was practicing left hand closing with it and it clipped half my middle finger off. Fresh off an edgepro session too. The other time, I was enjoying a good "couple" of drinks and was flipping the Tenacious and next thing you know there was blood everywhere. I was like yeah whatever... Must've been the booze.

Lost count, here one of the better ones on day after?

My hands are a road map of scars. Cut my left middle finger to the bone with an old sod buster a few years back. Nice little nick on my index finger from my new Buck 373. My ZT still hasn't bit me........ yet......
