How Many Times Have You Cut Your Fingers So Far?

Not this year, but when I first started making knives a LOT! First trip to the Dr. cost $140 so I picked up some 000 silk from the Vet. It came in nice packs with a needle attached. Worked good, but had to practice a lot stitching with one hand, both right and left. Once cut my leg and kind of enjoyed stitching using both hands. Now it is Duro super glue by locktite. Flush the would with alcohol, apply lots of pressure to force the blood away from the wound, then super glue. A reinforcing patch (first soaked in alcohol) can be superglued over the wound, just a strip or two. Makes putting yourself back to gether an easy job. Don't forget the rubbing alcohol, it will wake you up and keeps things clean. I used some other superglue and got in trouble real quick, so I stick with the locktite stuff. If tissue other than skin in involved it gets a little more complicated. Use this method at your own risk.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but, not counting the odd scratch here and there, I can't recall cutting myself this year. Or last year. Does that mean that I'm due?

Been bitten by the Balisong bug recently. Bought a BM42A last month and have cut myself more since then, then i ever have in the past. Well 4 cuts and 1 stab. Reminds me of a Marine i used to know who said,"pain is beautiful, extreme pain is extemely beautiful." I guess i know what he meant now.:D

In short order too. First, I cut the back of my ring finger on a A.G. Russell folding Hocho while unloading the dishwasher. Got impatient and yanked at a like-wise Russell product which jammed the washer, i.e., his GIANT COOKING TWEEZERS:mad:

Then, upon taking delivery of my new Tachyon, I promptly slit the back of my index finger, having failed miserably at taking notice as to which handle the latch was on. :o :D

It gave me a chance though to try out the SuperGlue method of closing cuts we otherwise would have to have sewn, or have sewn ourselves. Worked pretty well! Burned like hell on application, but closed up the cut seamlessly with no redness or scab. ;)
