I just started collecting a few months ago and have about 30+ knives mostly SPYDERCO..
But I realized that I wont use a new knife because I have 6+ used knives that I EDC all week long..
Just wondering how many people out there do the same thing or do you use all your knives all the time..

I try to use all my knives, they all have a purpose

I actually enjoy them more while I use them , I can see different things about each knife that appeal more to me for different uses

I have somewhere around 60+ knives and have used them all a time or two. but there are my favs I use everyday.

I have around 150 knives, and some I have purchased with the intent of carrying, but have yet to get around to it, because my few favorites just seem to always catch my eye when I'm trying to decide what to carry for the day.

I don't have any that I won't user. Oddly my Mnandi gets the least pocket time. I don't wear slacks any more so it sits most days, but I wouldn't sell it.

How about doubles of the exactly same knife, not sprint runs..
Will you use them also.?

All my knives are used and most are customs, you can't be a true knife lover without using your blades, Bob Loveless hated people who collected his knives and didn't use them

I bought a lot of custom fixed blade hunting knives some years ago, with no intention of ever using them for hunting. I do have a few production hunting knives and at least one custom that I would use if I had the chance to do some hunting. As of now all of them are unused. More recently I've been buying a lot of folders for EDC. All of my folders are bought to be used and I carry them. So of my fixed blades almost 100% are unused, of my folders all are used.

If I have a double of a sprint or LE then one will stay in the safe.I have passed doubles to members on this board and friends at cost.I have never sold a sprint for profit to anyone.Usually the sprints are a one shot deal.If I really like the knife, then I will double up.I use my blades, but there are models that I would like to have a backup for because they not easily replaced. The green para is one of those knives.Green is my favorite color so I pre-orderd 2 long ago.I passed my second green para to another member on this board at cost.He later passed a LE to me at cost that I missed on.I currently rotate 4 of my favorite knives which are all different.I can say that I don't buy any standard production knife and not carry and use it regularly. Some of the sprints and LE that I own stay in the safe, but not all. I can say for sure that if I buy the sprint ,or LE then I already know that I like the knife because I already EDC'd the regular model. This makes it a lot less painful shelling out the extra dough for me.If I pass the regular model on to someone, then I will EDC the sprint. No insults intended as my knives are my property....I have users that are in the safe also, but like to enjoy the newest models for some time before I rotate back to older models.I will mix up my EDC over time and appreciate the older models more when I re-establish my relationship and fondness towards them.No I don't love my knives,I cherish them until we are divorced of death do us part........

Have over 500 Spydercos, so there's no way I could "use all of them all the time'. Many were purchased as "collectibles" with no intention of every carrying them.

OTOH:

All my Spyderco Kitchen Sharps are users, although some get used every day and others only on rare occasions.

I carry a Kiwi virtually every day and, out of 80 unique ones, 78 are in the "rotation" and get carried and used occaionally.

I also carry a larger Spyderco folder daily and, while most days it will either be the Stretch that STR customized for me in Lignum Vitae, or the bolstered cocobolo one one Sal gave me, I have several dozen other Spydercos that see at least occasional carry.

I keep an Assist in my car's center console and a PE Atlantic Salt in the cargo compartment and, while I hope I never need to use either, I consider both to be users.

I wear sweats around the house, and don't carry a knife in them, so there's a Native V with Mexican Ebony scales on an end table in my living room, a Moran DP in my pantry, a Kopa and a Citadel within reach as I type this, a PE Salt I in the master bathroom, a LH Military on my nightstand (along with a Combat Troodon), and an FRN C41 Native hanging in my garage.

Won't own a knife I won't use.
Won't own a gun I won't shoot.
Won't one a pipe I won't smoke.
Won't own a watch I won't wear.

I just got the knife bug in June, and I already have 20 blades. I have used them all, but some get more pocket time than others.
My Buck Vantage Small, Spyderco Delica 4, Benchmade Mini Grip, and SRM 763 have been getting the most carry time.
Ladybug is on my keys all the time, and my Leatherman Wingman is with me most of the time.
I rarely carry my Cold Steel Ti-Lite, Tokyo Spike, Kershaw Tremor, Kuro.
I almost never carry my Cold Steel Tanto Lite (Just use it for battoning and making kindling off of logs to start fires)
I play with my Byrd Robin 2 at home, but don't usually carry it. It's just to small for me.
I NEVER carry my CRKT Ryan anymore, not that it's a bad knife, I just have better ones.
Just ordered a Spyderco Tenacious, Kershaw Cryo, and plan on them both being users.

I buy my Spyderco's to use but some just don't fit. And if I don't feel a connection then it gets put into a Spyderpac until I can figure out what to do with it. I had a list of knives I was going to post up for sale here once but lost my nerve. Just can't part with them even though I don't use them. Maybe someday, but till then, yes, I have knives I don't use. :p

I use them all. Well, at least I try. If a knife stays in the bottom of a drawer without use for a significant amount of time, it gets sold.
