A while back I asked a question, "How much is to much?" and I got some very interesting answers. I thought I would follow it up with a poll on "How much did it cost?" So, simply vote on what price range the knife you reach for first falls.

No, I think that's pretty clear. First, as in the knife you reach for the greatest percentage of all your time.

The knife I reach for first is my Spyderco Meerkat.
I have had it for three days and I can't stop playing with it. Great little knife.

The knife I reach for first, most often, is a premium production knife in the $100-300 range.

But if I'm putting on a pack, it's a custom in the $400-500 range.

These days, if I can wear a sweater or sweatshirt, my JSP shoulder harness goes on before I even think about pocket carry, so we're up over $1000.

If I'm dressing up, it will be a custom somewhere upwards of $500, with a four figure top end.

It's good to have choices!

It think that's what it all comes down to!! My limit on the value of carry knives is getting smaller. It's become the amount I could loose without wanting to slash my OWN wrists I'm sure everyone has their own threshold on this one. Face it, what's your biggest fear about carrying a nice knife???

Over the past two years, I've lost TWO cobalt alloy knives while salt water fishing. One I lost, the other my "friend" lost Not that it was all that expensive but loosing my M2 AFCK a while back PI$$ED me off too My old ATS 34 Sebenza was lost while 4 wheeling, I found it but in the condition it was in, I wish it stayed LOST!!
