How much did you spend in 2004?

My wife is always telling me I spend way too much on knives, so last night I crunched the numbers. I only spent $500 on knives for all of 2004. Of course, that is $450 too much, because according to her, I should be able to get a $50 knife from Wal-Mart and use it for the rest of my life.

From reading the posts here, I suspect I'm in the lower half of what true knife addicts spend in a year. Does anyone care to share how much hard-earned money went into their habit in 2004?

have bought a great used car. I spent Alot of cash. (for me anyway)

1) Two M16-14 CRKT= $150.00 w/engraving
2) CS SRK= $50.00
3) Ontario RTAK= $90.00
4) Ontario TAK-1= $70.00
5) TOPS Tracker= $230.00
6) TOPS Steel Eagle=$165.00
7) Becker Necker= $54.00
8) Buck Mayo=$80.00

These are all I could remember off the top of my head= $662.00

(This year already is past that mark in custom's alone  )

Somewhere over $3K, but the majority of that was for knives ordered in prior years.

As a result of a transmission rebuild last December and a planned cruise for next August, my finances dictate that purchases for 2005 will total one (1) knife, ordered from Bailey Bradshaw at last year's Blade Show.

On the advice of my lawyer, I cannot answer that on the grounds that it might incinerate me. :D

About $1000.00. Wow! That's too much, I must be crazy...

I bought 22 knives, so the average is $44/knife. That sounds semi-sane. The batch of closeout OldTimers brought the average down and jacked up the total count.

These figures don't include knives I gave as gifts, or the several very nice knives I received as gifts.

Well, I spent everything I could. $0. Yep, that's right, ZERO dollars! Actually, if you count the knives I sold for cash, that figure should be negative!

Hopefully the financial situation should improve enough this year that I could afford 1 or 2 toys.

About a thousand bucks. Man, it didn't seem like that much when you were spending 50-100 bucks at a time

about $400 on 4 productions, averaging $100 each.
a little too much methinks, being a college student.
but now that i've got a handful of quality blades,
i have an edc rotation that will last a while.

now for some impact weapons.. :D

I spent about $800, mostly on:

-a Strider MG dagger
-a Buck 110 from their custom shop
-a couple of Shivworks Clinch Picks, plus a trainer

I also got my hands on a bunch of knives through trades (but mostly traded them away or sold them), and I probably made twice what I spent in '04 by selling knives (even though I've never made $$ selling a knife - it's always a losing proposition).

Far too much. I only just worked out whilst doing this thread that most of my stuff is from 2004

£25
£20
£40
£24
£10
£5

I also bought some kitchen knives but I needed them as I left home

this year I've spent £30 so far

to me fair, since I also sold one knife at a profit from the price I bought it for that was £25 back and I made some money dealing with a shop selling over the net on commision

I'd like to add that since we were not given a full reading of our rights in our native language none of these confessions are admissable in a Court of Law, including a Divorce Court. A clear case of entrapment.
