How much did you spend in 2004?

What me answer that. Heck no my X wife reads this forum :D.

about 1000, mostly spydercos and schrades. I bought a bunch of schrades, before prices skyrocked. I got a few odds and ends various kinds of knives, did buy a bulldog to try out .
Good knife hunting

Scares me to much to add it all up, but the last purchase was around 367.00. I would extimate 1500-2000 over the entire last year.

I would really have to be an idiot to answer this one honestly. What if the wife somehow sees it? What are you trying to do, get all the married guys here a good @ss kicking? You should have titled this thread "for singles only".

low four figures.

who said that?

:D

I will have to decline answering this one on a public forum b/c of better half as well, but just some quick addition in my head gave me a total I would have never guessed I would spend on knives a couple years ago.

First year, not even a whole year.

Around 400.

I've spent another 250 at the begining of the month plus another 70 worth of stuff comming in.

Oh wow... Uh, a lot of my summer earnings went to knives... Khukuris especially... Heck, I think I spent around $2,000 this year... 11 Himalayan Imports khukuris for myself, a few more for others, a 43" khukuri that the price was right on, so I just couldn't resist, a BM 705 LE, various other small knives for family members... Maybe a couple CRKTs at the beginning of the year... Ack... That's a lot of money looking back... Gotta stock up on sharp stuff before the starving college student drought though.

Probably $300 in '04... but I think I'm at least in for that much already for '05 and its like... still January. My "best wife in the world" is getting really tired of this...

I have a idea for it ! to find a girlfriend who love cutlery more than you if you are single still ;) ,just joking!

I've spent more money on my hobbies, radio receivers, cameras, computers, HiFi sets, to folders, etc. but I have no wife!

Well, if my math skills hold up, the average seems to be about $1,700, with the median falling in the $1,000 range... Kudos to you guys who can get away with $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000 per year! :D

It also seems like everyone is getting off to a quick start in 2005. (Heck, I bought my first knife of the year on January 4! )

Anyway, happy knife hunting!

Has anybody met this ABN and can swear he isn't really my wife under an alias?

My expdenditure aren't just for knives. I have probably spent $400 on knives (a couple were presents to others). I probably spent $150 on sharpening equipment and supplies (including water stones and sanding belts). I also spent about $40 on heat treatment of blades. I've also spent something like $75.00 on straight razors.

It looks like the average is somewhere between $600 and $1G. What other hobby can provide such satisfaction for so little money?

Can't get a classic car.

Can't get a good stereo.

Can't get a great telescope.

Maybe one good gun.

Perspective!

Regards,

Jeremy

LMAO! Wouldn't that be a first here on BladeForums -- a woman posing as a man? I mean, there appear to be several men posing as women :barf: , but the other way around??

Umm, I can't count that high. Or don't want to anyway as I am always broke and thinking of how much I spend on knives depresses me more.

Probably right around the big $1,000 mark though. And that is while I am trying to save my money to buy a car too.
