How much does your HI collection weigh?

LOL! There's a new one. Let me go check. OK, HI: 5315.2 oz., Non-HI: 920.5 oz.

Ain't spreadsheets great? :D I have no intention of moving any of it any time soon though!

Norm
Umm, wow! That totals out to 6235.7 oz.
6 235.7 ounces = 389.73125 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's some poundage you have there Norm. If my collection ever starts weighing more then me I might have to reconsider the "collection", that or gain some weight...

wow!!! almost $400 pounds worth of khuks
sweeeeeeeeeet :) :D

Well, the kukris sub-total weighs considerably less. You said HI, so all the smaller knives are in there as well. All those little chunks of steel add up fast!

Norm

P.S. Just realized when I started collecting HI I weighed less. Now I weigh almost exactly what my HI collection weighs! Weird. Better start selling...

Boy, I've made better weight guesstimates in my day:foot:

Not even "20ish" lbs, merely 11.3 lbs...:o

I least I don't need casters for them, yet:D .

Sigh, I still outweigh Norm's HI collection, but not quite the whole collection.:(

Give me time though, I have a goal now!

j/k about the goal thing.:p

Me Shy Abaniko ? about kukri ? Thats Not how most people percieve it! :D

Norms complete collection must weight nearly double what mine does. ;)

Transporting to Friends if I am away for a few days takes a lot hours of wrapping & packing.

Spiral, I'd wager that you have far more kukris than I do, but as much as I love HI I'd be happy to swap you straight across!

My stuff includes everything from R series knives to Kumar kardas & sarge knives and kerambits to misc. HI swords and large ceremonial knives, etc. From what I've seen of your wall, I think you're probably way underestimating the poundage of all that steel!

Kind of apples and oranges, (or more like apples and kumquats) as to our collections, although I do have one "older" kukri, a Blackjack / Reinhardt kukri from clear back to 1993. :D

I believe you may have one or two pieces that might be even older...;)

Thanks Norm, having heard of your collection & reading your posts about your kukri, thats quite a compliment, I realise you love them.Thankyou.

How many kukri have you?

Well today theres 92 kukri here & I just figured a 2lb average including scabbards. So it might very a bit from that. but its not as far out as you think, I think!

Newest piece I currently have is a British issue, made on Dharan army base by civilian kami imployed by the Gurkhas in 1987, & a modern commercial Kothi dedicated to a paycorps Captain with the 6th Gurkhas from 1986.

I think your right one or two of my kuks might be a little older than that.:D

cheers,
Spiral
