Pretty much as the thread title states, what would you guys consider as being a reasonable price range for a NIB, G-10 Police?

Thanks, I'm hoping to find one of these and now have an idea of what I should be paying.

If I can hijack a bit what would be a reasonable price for the civilians. I want a G10 serrated but would settle if the deal was good. I prefer PE on almost every knife but a few spydercos.

I would say 100 to 140 for a new G10 civie.

I sold a PE version for $150 shipped a few months ago in a 3 way sell/trade. SE should be cheaper as the collector value of a PE is higher than a SE.

The Civilian was only available on PE for 2 runs: TUFRAM (couple hundred in existence at best) and Carbon Fiber (couple hundred in existence). Both will see prices above $200 USD and usually under $300 USD. The G10 is the current grip style and the current steel is VG-10. New from NGK, they can be had for about $135. Carried, but not used as this is NOT as utility knife, they will still see $100-120.

The G-10 Police is hands down my favorite Spyderco EVER. I prefer the PE but the SE is a great knife as well. As others have stated, the PE is more expensive than the SE. The PE can go for as much as $200 on E-bay but average price for a NIB version is about $140-160 give or take. The SE version goes for at least $100 for a NIB. If you can find a NIB SE G-10 Police, I would snap it up. $120 is more common.

There are also three distinct versions of the G-10 Police, and prices vary between them. The ealiest had no liner and were hollow ground with a swedge grind, like all other Police versions. These are of interest to collectors, but are a poor choice as a user, since the clip screws are only anchored in G-10 and have a tendency to pull out. A single liner on the clip side was added to the second version to address that issue. These make better users than the earlier ones, but don't seem to be held in as high esteem by collectors. The final version retained the single liner, but sported a full flat ground blade with no swedge grind. It is the only version of the Police to use such a blade. It is also the one most desired by collectors and generally fetches the higest prices. As has already been noted, within each variant SE specimens are less in demand than PE and almost always sell for less. Have not purchased any lately, so will not comment on current prices beyond that.
