How much is well used Skirmish worth?

Heck.. just have a local maker, or an BF maker do a make over for you.
It will look like brand spanking new, or even better.
and I can GUARANTEE you'll love the results. I've never been disappointed with a beater knife make over,
and the 4 or so that I had done was by a part time, very part time, local knife maker friend of mine.
A little buffing, a little tooling, and bing..... all done.
My friend never spent more than 1/2 hour work on any of these.. BTW....

Just wanted to let anyone that was interested know that the seller and I came to an agreement and he quickly made the deal right.

While his description of the knife wasn't completely correct he stayed in contact and was willing to work with me. I don't think he did anything on purpose but was just a little too enthusiastic about the knife which led me to believe it was in better shape than it was.

Just goes to show that everyone should make sure they ask plenty of questions and try to get as many pictures of the item they are buying/trading if you are at all questioning the condition of the item.

Thanks for all the comments and replies!

Glad it all worked out. The Skirmish is a wonderful knife and I am sure you will enjoy your purchase. If you are interested here is mine (also purchased 2nd hand) with a Tom Krein regrind. It is now as sharp as a new cutthroat.....:)

It came out of necessity. I was existing around lots of not so nice people. Everyday for approx 2 months, these people and associates saw me grinding on it and I would wave it open and hand it to them and ask something like, "does this feel sharp to you? how about the double edge?" ... Because of that nasty knife, I never had to use it.

if the "not so nice people" are the ones you asked if the knife was sharp...... I have to ask why in the world would you hand some not so nice people (that worry you enuff to feel that way ) a very sharp knife ? Sounds like something that could have went very wrong.

I should have clarified:D

I handed it to the "man of the house" to test the edge in front of the nasty types.

Brain not working properly, needs coffee.

How is the lock on the Sifu? I had a CF version and I had to polish some of the lock surfaces with silicon carbide before it was remotely smooth.

I'd be interested to hear also. I seem to remember that lots of folks used to say that the knife is slightly too large overall for its lock, and that it developed play. Any problems with yours?
