My wife bought me a brand new Buck Strider SP for Christmas. I saw the UPS truck deliver it. I can't touch it. I can't see it. I can't even hold the box till Cristmas. Now she's telling me about it. "OOH its big, OOH its nice, BOY this knfe is a lot heavier than your others, WOW the blade is so thick, and the handle feels like a snow tire". I am gonna FREAK!!!! I really dont know why I wrote this post. I guess I just need a sympathetic ear. Thanks for listening. Alex

Eight days 'till Christmas...

Tranquilizers... that's your only option.

Your wife plays you like a violin! :D

That's the Strider model I got. It's worth the wait til Christmas. Keep the wife, she knows what you like!

GOES GREAT with your WHINE:D :D :D I KNOW my Wife has bought me a very SPECIAL knife. She, her Sister, and my son worked on this for two Months. WHAT it is, I have no clue, but I am like a little kid waiting by my Chiminey, and I do NOT even have a CHIMINEY!!!!!
Hey, and for a Jewish boy, I sure DO think ST. NICK is one KEWL guy and rumor has it a bigtime knifeknut!!!!
merry Xmas:D ;) ;) ......wolf

Hey, oneslowbird!
I feel your pain!
I don't know if I'd make it to Christmas!
I've got the small version of the Buck/Strider Spearpoint in BG-42 and absolutely love it.
It's the first folder I've ever had that I'm not afraid to use anyhow I need to.

My wife bought me my new Jason Jacks folder for christmas, and it's HERE in my pocket! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ehm...
No, I couldn't just resist :)

Has she hid the box? Half the fun is tearing-up the house looking for it (while she isn't home, or is in the shower).

Did she wrap it up well? The other half of the fun is opening the package, THEN trying to re-wrap it without her knowing that you "looked".

Otherwise, heavy doses of Valium might help.:D.

The pain of waiting for something that's arrived...

My new BM 690 Elishewitz is in town, but needs to get re-delivered tomorrow... But that's just one day. Hang in there! :(

One time, the UPS guy came to our house the max number of times, and then said we need to pick it up at their downtown office. That is the worst, when you know you could have had it in your hands, and just because the guy didn't use the doorbell, and no one heard him knock, you have to wait 'til their business hours and run downtown and wait in line to get something that was literally on your doorstep. That is the worst:mad:

Luckily, this year, all my packages came early, and I now have the knives with me:D Never even had a chance to get wrapped in Christmas paper. The brown taped up package and bubble wrap were enough to make it feel like a gift:D:D Of course they were all trades:rolleyes: and not "gifts" per se, but, hey the feeling is the same:D

Good luck with the wait. At least it didn't come a month early:eek:;)

A tad bit off topic, but my wife bought me something this year made by Smith & Wesson...I must wait...I must wait...

Off topic? There are S&W knives as well... I believe they're made by the Taylor Knive Company. Impressive value for money.

I've tried the rest. I finally admitted that I need a Sharpmaker.

I went to my favorite knife store about a month ago and bought myself one for Christmas. I turned it over to my wife. She put it in plain view but I can't touch it.:(

I have occupied myself by trying to get as many knives as dull as possible before Christmas.

My lovely wife purchased one of these littles beauties (w/leather handle) for me for Xmas.
It's sitting in a UPS box right out in the open in our bedroom!!!! Can you believe that???
She's such a tease!!!!;)

Hell, I even saw the big brown truck make the delivery!!!!

Come on Xmas.........let's get this over with already!!!!!:D

Wish I had someone to buy me knives for Christmas... Too bad I'm still single and my signature demonstrates the likelyhood of getting one from my parents. :(

Well, it's nice be among those who share my pain, but this still bites the big one. And now my pics are on the blink. Later, Alex

The real worst is having UPS deliver the package, phone you your package from the US has arrived and that, no, they can't let you have it, coz' it's a WEAPON, for the italian Law, and you have to got a permit to get the permit to import the item, which requires 20 days for the first permit, 90 days for the second permit, and you have to go to the police and ask pathetically if, please and sigh!, they can make it faster as the package after 20 days will be sent BACK into the US, and you'll have to wait again, and pay for 20 days storage, and pay for the package sent back, and pay for the package sent to you again...
And when you have the permit to ask the permit, you go, ask the permit, and look at days passing, and no news, and your storage fee goes up, and up, and up
And then they give you the permit and you are ready to go not to downtown, but to the airport in another province since THERE is the item stored, but no, you can't have it now coz' after they got the permit they must inspect the package, and make some more papers (this to answer anybody who asked where Amazon forest is going!) so you have to send the permit by UPS to UPS (and spend another 20 euros for such an absurd task!) because the permit arrived on the last useful day, and hope al goes well, because THIS is STILL not the worst: the worst is that, after all this,
a) The papers are wrong, they send back everything and ask you to produce the correct papers

or, even worst

b) the papers are wrong, the item is confiscated, you are charged for illegal internationa weapon trade and risk jail...

THIS is the worst, which has just happened to me, and I'm waiting to see if I'll have my package or I'll fall into a) or b) so, cheer up :D

'Ya see this guys??

Just when you think that you've got it bad someone (Alarion) comes along and shows you that it could always be worse.:)

I'm just glad that it's you Alarion and not me in that situation. I'd be freaking out.
