How much quenchant?

Great, thanks guys. I was thinking I was going to need 5+ gallons of oil just for quenching one blade, and thats not an option right now. 1 gallon sounds a crap ton better. I only plan on quenching one blade at a time ( only making one knife at a time ), so there is on risk of over heating the oil or needing more volume so it doesn't over heat.
