How Not to Sharpen?

From the little I've seen of the video's I have to side with Sadden, this guy is just dangerous to give a knife to which is my biggest issue and he is out there trying to teach people how to be stupid and dangerous.
 
I dunno. I think he's fine. I'm not a huge fan of this techniques (like the side to side sharpening that he ends with), and he doesn't seem to show very much sharpening, as the videos cut and move on to the next step quickly. But I think he's getting sharp blades. Sharp enough for kitchen work for SURE. The fingernail scraping test makes me cringe and I wouldn't advocate it. I've tried it, SLOWLY and carefully, and a sharp blade does bite and shave fingernail.

I'm not sure why there's so much uproar about him. His ideas and basic techniques are sound, even if he uses terms that aren't mainstream and one questionable test of sharpness.
