We've all pushed the stupidity limits a time or two. Most of us love adreneline rushes. This guy takes it a little too far.

Do you try to stop the moron before he does it? Or, do you just call 911 and grab the FAK?

I think I would point and laugh. Then I would say, "Oh $hit, did you see that."

It looks more like a "HEY YOU ALL!! WATCH THIS!!" thing. Anyway, sorry for that guy. Anyone knows if he made it?

Last I heard he was in critical condition.

Reminds me of the moron that was going to strap himself to a palm and ride out an oncoming storm... never heard what happened to him or how he planned to deal with airborne debris.

I'm not sure about that windsurfing thing.I mean, I don't know if you're strapped to your kite,or not.If not,why didn't he let go when he hit the sand?

Being originally from Corpus Christi, TX, I've seen my fair share of those things. I believe they are snapped to a vest/harness that you are wearing and the handle is what you use to attempt to control it, ie. pull harder for more tension or loosen up if you are going too high. I'm not 100% sure since I've never done it myself, but I don't think he could have gotten off at that point even if he wanted to.

All the more reason to carry a knife. He may have possibly been able to cut himself free.I don't know, probably not.
Oh well,I hope the idiot "lives & learns".

That is not the first bad one I have seen on kite surfing. I saw one at an actual competition, great weather, nice wind, then bang, huge gust pulled the guy like 100 feet in the air, and wouldn't you know it, set him down nice and hard on some nice sharp rocks.

But at least the pro at the competition was not trying it out in a tropical storm! He was on a nice sunny day.

I have always said that Natural selection is having a harder and harder time weeding out the stupid. Back in the day, that guy would have been saying "hey, I bet I can go slap that sleeping bear on the butt, and then out run it!" and there would have been no quick emergency medical treatment to save him. Now we have whole trailerparks full of guys like that, who do stupid stuff, and yet are able to survive, and more damaging, able to breed before they are taken out of the gene pool.

We are all gonna die..no way outta this deal without that ending. He was having fun..not my idea of fun..but his..I think that for all the ways you can look at him and call him a moron. He could look at our FAT ASSES sitting in front of a computer every night..and say that we are just taking our time about killing ourselves. HUMILITY...our I could be wrong. Risk is calculated, Fun can be risky. Life without fun is not worth living. JMO

+ALOT...very well put. While I would never do what this guy did, I have my own fun that can be a risk. I am a gearhead and adrenaline junkie to some extent, so gettin a 'vette to push its limits on the highway is my idea of fun. Not much more intelligent though.

I agree with that to a point. There is a line between risky and stupid.
Storm chasers take risks getting as close to, say, tornados as possible. They don't strap kites to themselves and go into the storm though. That is stupid.
Just my opinion of course.
