How offen do you rotate your EDC?

I thought it was time for another EDC thread. So my question is: How offen do you rotate your EDC?

Here is my rotation schedule:
Watch: 1 during the week another on the weekend. I have about 30 watches to rotate thru.
Tool: usually I keep my LM Sideclip with me almost all the time. Sometimes I'll try another tool, but I keep coming back to the sideclip. Also a LM Micra is usually with me unless I have a SAK with scissors.
Knife: Usually my newest knife stays with me for a couple weeks then I go back to my normal knife rotation which is a different knife every week. And sometime 2-3 at a time. Sometimes I have to change my knife depending on what happening that day. Say if I'm going somewhere and need to dress up, I don't want the clip from my Cuda Maxx and Sideclip sticking out, so I'll take a SAK instead.

I'd interested in what everyone else EDC rotation is.

I actually prefer to keep mine consistent as it saves money :D and gets me used to the idea of what's where.

I admit though I do keep one space open for "potluck" to try out new things like my Persian or carry a specific item I may not need every day.

I'm also constantly experimenting to see if I can come up with a minimalist EDC setup as a backup/travel/not enough pockets on what I have to wear set.

I do exactly the same thing.

I sometimes will switch back and forth between different knives several times a day, depending on what I'm planning to do, who may see my knives, and where I'm going, so my rotation cycle can be a matter of hours.

I change my edc knives at least once every M-F because there's a length limit in effect at the federal building where I work.

My usual rotation is that I take a Spyderco Dragonfly and Vic SAK Recruit to work, and when I get home I usually switch to a Spyderco Persian or BM 556 yellow Mini-Grip coupled with a Vic SAK Tinker or Climber.

But when I get home tonight I'll carry my recently acquired Darrel Ralph-tuned Camillus Dominator (a knife I didn't seek out -- it sought me).

You don't want to know what watches I usually wear :barf: . I do have a few nice Hampden pocket watches -- my great grandfather ran the factory in Canton, Ohio).

I carry a SOG flash II everyday. the only time it comes out of my pocket is for school, then it goes right back in my pocket. the only problem is it is a very aggressive looking knife with the assisted opening, serrated, and black blade. i need to be careful opening it in some places.

i want to get a bm minigrip. the yellow looks cool and different. soo many black knives out there.

Basically my rotation is:

work clothes (coat & tie): BM 940
casual clothes: BM 940, occasional Gunting
travelling out-of-state: Dodo or Gunting (because they have small blades)

I'm in the market for a Mnandi and will probably carry that most days once I get it, but will probably still carry the 940 as well for nastier cutting chores. I prefer to have a limited number of knives that I really like a lot, instead of rotating a bunch that I'm not really crazy about.

I usually carry my Kershaw Avalanche. I now replaced it (for the time being) with my new Spyderco Para-Military. For some reason (after having carried my new knife for a week or two) I already tend to go back to my Kershaw. The Para-Military will see more EDC time though. I really like it.

In certain situations (when I know that I will use the knife in front of others like opening boxes of new computers at work) I prefer to carry my Schrade Spitfire. My Leatherman Wave is always with me. I don't rotate it with any other multi tool. But... that will change as soon as I get my hands on the new Charge Ti. :D

I guess I'm the weird one here. My carry knife is always my BM 800SBT. I'm thinking about snagging a smallish SAK for a sheeple-friendly backup/loaner knife, but I've always got my AFCK.

i used to carry a BM9100S (auto stryker combo blade) all the time. now i rotate between my cuda maxx stiletto, cold steel ti-lite, and benchmade 42. I wish the BM42 came with a clip or something, might pick up a spyderfly for that functionality.

if i'm out running i'll grab the BM auto. If i'm working out, i take the ti-lite since there are cops near the gym and autos are illegal here.

if i have to dress up for something i'll carry the bm42 since it looks the best.

i've just started carrying the cuda maxx as an EDC for a week or two. damn that thing is big. My BM9100 looks like a penknife next to it.

I carry different weekend and weekdays, not always the same but usually something like this:.

Knives, etc., weekdays Vic Huntsman, Schrade 897UH and Leatherman original, weekends Vic Craftsman, Schrade 34OT and Leatherman sideclip.

Harmonica, usually weekdays Hohner 1896 b-flat, weekends Hering Blues b-flat.

Watch, usually weekdays Longines or one of two Midos, all mechanical, weekends Seiko 5 automatic or Citizen eco drive.

I change this once in a while, sometimes carry Vic Farmer, Schrade 98OT, Lee Oscar harmonica, some other watch (Poljot, Citizen automatic, one of several pocket watches).

My Victorinox Settler is pretty much with me constantly.
During off hours I carry either a CRK Mnandi, Umfaan, or Case mini Copperlock depending on mood or occasion. Hopefully soon I'll be adding a WH T-10 Lancet to the rotation.

During the week I always have my small Wenger (don't know which model, like Tinker of Victorinox) and Spyderco old Rescue.
For outdoor I take my Spyderco PE Endura and Laetherman Wave.
If I'm going to the place I think I could face any trouble I take my SOG PE (old model with liner lock)

Weekday(At work) with dockers: Tanto small sebenza and SAK, not sure what model. Either LM SuperTool or Gerber Multi. New surefire e1e.

Friday(casual Fridays at work) and the weekend: same SAK and a Brian Tighe 'My Tighe'. LM SuperTool or SOG Power Plier dealy. Surefire E2E.

The SAK or CR for in front of sheeple cause they are fairly small and nice looking, the My Tighe when I'm not around the sheep cause it looks wicked.

I'm going to a "garden party" on Saturday that will be solid wall to wall sheeple. I'm thinking of carrying the Dominator just because I feel ornery. :grumpy: :D

I don't have a need to rotate my EDC, as I'm happy with what I carry, as it all works well for me.

Well, I have several that I rotate through daily, and almost always have two or three in combination.

1 large folder: Dominator, LCC D/A, Cuda Maxx, BM 730CFHS, or MT Scarab

1 med. folder: A.G. Russell damascus folder, MT UTX70, A. G. Russell Linerlock w/Burlwood and Ti, Spyderco Native

1 small folder: A.G. Russell Ultimate Pen knife, Spyderco Ti Police necklace knife, Spyderco Kiwi jigged-bone, Case 2-blade pen knife

My Victorinox Swiss tool is almost always on my belt around the house, so something gets replaced.

Overall, favorite EDC combo: MT LCC D/A, MT Scarab, Spyderco Kiwi

I switch between my BM 31S and 42MC quite often. I say about 30/70% respectively. A lot of it depends on whether or not I plan on stopping at the Circle K next to the strip club at 1am. I don't carry a knife for self defence, but having a bigger one at certain times eases my worries. Those, or a MT Scarab (but it's broken atm).

Monday,Thursday, Friday and I dig out a whole different group at home.

Spyd. Paramilitary as my work EDC, this is the best edc I have found for ergonomics and incredible sharpness. I swap this for a BM710HS, which is my prefered after dark carry, as it has a longer blade, BT coated blade and faster to deploy.

Once every mood-swing tends to do it. However, I've had some difficulties explaining the 6-ft bat-wing ax.

Actually, I think about where I'll be, and what I'm likely to be doing--or what's likely to happen. Then, given the recent random searches on public transportation in greater-Boston, I go for 1/2 the number at 2/3 the size. I figure I can explain those choices to an LEO as work-related.
