My most recent folder purchase is a Crawford Kasper Fighting folder and I've been hard pressed to choose one of my older knives over it lately... but typically I change every day or so, or depending on what tasks I have that day.
I rotate between a large woody classic Sebenza, a JW Smith mini-Scimitar (despite the name, it's my sheeple-friendliest folder, thanks to blue scales and a small recurve blade), a DMKnives Instigator 2 for heavy chores, and a Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx with DLC coat and pearl inlays (my dressy gent folder).
I also carry either a Busse Assault Shaker in a horizontal belt rig, or a FrontSight Mickey Yurco Hideaway in a belt sheath for defense and/or heavier chores. If I want to avoid torquing a folder, the Busse can take over.
I recently picked up a Graham Bros. 3" Razel - their chisel+razor hybrid knife. It's thick S30V with no point- it's shaped like a chisel, but double hollow ground on the main edge and flat ground on the "point edge." This knife has turned out to be very handy and incredibly strong for its size. I just cut open some nigh impossible plastic molded packaging for an optical mouse like it was butter, something I'd be very careful about doing with my Sebenza. Those molded edges can be tough! Not for the Razel. Plus it doesn't look like a knife from afar, so no one at the office has gone bug-eyed like when I flip open my big Mosier folder.
I always carry a knife except when traveling by air, or going to concerts or NYC landmarks where they have metal detectors. It just pays to be aware.
And while I'm on a coffee-induced ramble, I used to carry a folder and a kukri to school back in the old days. We had a lot of fun in shop class
