I did this two nights ago. It doesn't look all that bad in the picture, but you could see down, inside my finger toward the knuckle. I've never actually had a cut hurt this bad before. It still bleeds when I bend my finger too much or hit it. My wife is a nurse so even thinking about stitches is out of the question....:o

You'll notice the freshly healed scar just above the new one on the same finger.. Guess I don't learn. I tried to draw a line from the text to the healed scar, but for some reason the arrow saves in a different file.

I did it cleaning a kitchen knife. It blead out pretty good!

If I can only stop handling knives while talking on the phone I'd be ok. I have some Graham band aid dispensers on my desk. Ouch.

Very rarely do I get cut by a knife, and if so it usually a minute cut. I often get cut while working on the truck and such. However, I constantly get cuts from opening packaging. I just sliced my forearm good last week at the Walmart while grabbing a bubble pack with sharp edges. Lucky for me the store manager was young and good looking as she applied first aid, and had that nice touch with the hands.

I can't remember the last time I cut myself while camping or hiking or while EDCing. It's always the kitchen knives.

Not sure how often, and I don't wanna jinx myself and say its been a long time.....but, I have discovered a secret. I usually end up getting cut a few moments after thinking "Man, this is really good way to get cut."

Sucks to be right sometimes

Weekly basis-usually while sharpening,or when rich in box and nick on unsheathed one-I don`t care any more.As far as I remember in the woods I have done that twice-once putting knife back in sheath somehow I managed to cut finger, second time I actually stabbed myself in leg by arrow with surgical blade point.

Yall need to be more careful, or quit Finger F*&^ing your knives when you arent using them.

I grew up in a machine shop, and have ALWAYS worked with my hands and I cant remember the last time I cut myself with anything, much less one of my own blades.

It must be nice to live in a world without sharp edges or corners ;) After the first hundred times I got cut working on cars, it stopped bothering me. If I don't impact with something sharp once in a while, I know I'm working too slow.

Never Run With "INFI"~LMAO~!!!!

Looks more like someone was chasing you with infi.

Mine are typically small cuts done while cleaning. The last one was a PITA because it went through my spyderco opening thumb, through the nail, off the bone, and kept on going out the bottom.

The split nail took the longest to heal as it had to grow out without continually resplitting. Super glue and bandaids there for almost 2 months, maybe more. I could only open a spydie with a bandaid on. Joe

Nope. It means you are working at the right pace. If you are cutting yourself, it is because you are exceeding safe work speed limits.

I seldom cut myself, but I am a photographer, which means I don't really know the meaning of work. :D

Or just not paying attention. I don't think I have managed more than two or three small nicks in the last 10 years! ("Accident"? There's no such thing in my book. If you deconstruct your "accident", you'll always find that it was triggered by someone's stupidity or lack of attention somewhere.)

I have to agree with cockroachfarm here. And I am the same.

Probably twice in the last 4 years. Both were close together i think...I was probably just having a bad week. lol

Yup - I was part watching TV and part cleaning the knife.

Not a very good combination. Funny thing is, I was thinking to myself - this is a good way to get cut. I was washing the blade with it facing me.

Oh well - you live and you learn.
