How often do you switch knives?

I seem to switch daily. I'll go from a Case peanut on day, to a Benchmade 942 the next. Sometimes I'll even switch knives when I get home from work, before I leave the house. This generally has nothing to do with what I may use the knife for, it just because I like variety. So, how often do you guys change what knife you carry ?

I switch up often, pending on what I'm doing. Generally, around the house I will carry anything from an old CRKT Doolittle which is my beater knife to my Kershaw JYD 2. Usually though, I carry either a Kershaw Leek or OD-1 around the house. To work, I would carry something inconspicuous such as a G10 Leek. Going out running errands or whatnot, something larger such as one of my ZT's. However, I have been known to have a color coordinated knife and shirt, is that weird?

I'm the same way. I try to give each of my knives in my EDC rotation a fair share of attention and pocket time, sometimes switching the same day. I usually try to give each knife in the line-up about 1-2 days before switching, but I sometimes switch mid-day like you mentioned. By the way, I'm glad I'm not alone in my weirdness and comforting to hear that other people do the same thing I do. :D

My behavior has really enlightened me as to how women feel about their shoes and handbags and jewelry and hair and clothing and . . .

I switch every day, at least once a day. At work I carry a CRKT aluminum Ripple. It's small, handy and excels at slicing open plastic bags and cutting money straps- which is the bulk of what I use it for. Once I get home I switch to a "good" knife like an Integrity, Southern Grinds, Etc, depends on what mood I'm in when I leave the house next.

I switch up my knives about once a month, or whenever the mood strikes. Im carring a work knife (bone collector) then when I get home it will be my brown sprint caly.

I'll go a few weeks before switching things up. I once carried a Sage 2 for an entire year straight, but then I got a Sebenza, and that plan fell apart.

Hard question to answer easily. I have two knives that are always with me. Boker KeyCom clipped to a front pocket with a small flashlight hanging from it. Case Slimline Tapper in my bag I carry to work specifically for food prep (cutting apples typically).

Then usually in my back pocket one of several Case folding knives along side my wallet. Those I switch up as I feel like it but there are only three in that "rotation" and I may go weeks with one of them or carry a different one each day. Depends on my mood and what I think I might need it for that day. It's really just for fun because the KeyCom can handle pretty much anything I really need to do most days.

On weekends if I know I'm going to be doing some fixup chores around the house I switch over to the Delica or maybe a Boker WharCom or both.

Once every couple of days, I have a Case pen knife that has earned a permanent spot in my breast pocket. Along with either a griptilian or junkyard dog 2.2.

At least daily. Sometimes more often - especially if I have a job to do on my property where a specific knife would come in handy.

I have a pretty large collection, both Production & Customs.

So having said that, I switch up what knives I carry everyday.

I almost always carry a Primary & Secondary blade on me at all times.

So from time to time I may carry a knife for a few days, but one of the two is always different from day to day.

I have always not really been into Fixed Blades, but I've recently picked up a few and am diggin EDCing one.

I'd say one knife that's hard to keep out of my pocket is my Mikkel Willumsen Custom Camp W-23.

And now of course my Brous Division Flipper, which is just a beast of a folder :D

I'm beginning to settle down. I've decided on a Benchmade 300SSN for work. When not at work it's been a Delica 4. If I'm going someplace nice l'll carry my Mini Grip with G10 Wilkins scales (black sheepsfoot blade).

I pick out a different knife to start every day. I usually have a different one in my car in case my mood changes during the day. On the weekends, I will sometimes change what I am carrying a couple of times a day.

I think the switching of carry knives reflects a self rationalizing effort to justify a personal tendancy (almost a conpulsion) to want to spend money on knives because you like them. In most cases, a single SAK is probably all you need for an EDC.

I find it difficult to switch the actual knife (or knives) in my pocket every day. I have what I consider a lot of choices and for the most part they just sit on my desk where I fondle them often or in their boxes in a drawer, cabinet, or storage box. I probably have 10-12 knives lying on my desk right now.

I have purchased a couple knives in the last 6 to 12 months with the intent of actually rotating my EDC's. The latest is a GEC traditional and probably a small SAK combo to replace the single SAK that I have carried and used for years every day. But does this make any real sense? Carrying two knives because I want to when all I really need is the single SAK for almost every use I have even in the woods?

I carry a Spydier Delica too as well as a SOG Twitch II, SOG Access Card 2.0, so forth. I like knives. Always have since I was a kid.

When I hit the woods, the fixed blades come out of hibernation. But again, the single SAK is all that I feel I actually need and usually what I choose to use even in the woods. It's a personal issue and a compulsion to find the ultimate knife which I have decided doesn't exist unless the SAK is in fact my ultimate knife.

I change knives from day to day, sometimes hour to hour, or minute to minute. Just depends on whats going on during said time period. When future is vague as to blade requirement then I become mood driven on my knife selection. It's like one big steel party. I enjoy my knives. I treat them well, and they reciprocate.

I try to carry a new knife for a month to give it time to develop a petina . Right now I only have a 12 traditional folders and still have a few more to give pocket time to before I need to buy more knives...lol.
How I love this hobby.

Some times I'll switch every couple days and then some times I'll carry the same knife a couple weeks. I'm kind of all over the place?:)

I only switch when I get a new one actually (or something is wrong with whichever one I'm carrying). I'm not super into variety and I really don't like thinking too much about it. It goes from my pocket to my nightstand and then my nightstand to my pocket.

If it's new it will stay about a month. Then decide if it will go into my rotation. My rotation lasts about 1-2 weeks. Change out as often as needed for different occasions. Recently Brad Southard, Small Sebenza and ZT 0550 with my handmade custom G10 orange scale. It's not easy. Decisions, decisions.

Not very often. I carried the same two knives for at least the last year -- Mini Grip and Delica. Sometimes would add SAK or Keycom or Gnome, but always had the Mini Grip and Delica. Just within the past couple of days I decided to try and switch it out for my old CRKT F4 to see how a small fixed blade works out for me.
