How often do you use a compass?

When working as an archaeologist, I used it all day every day. Couldn't have drawn accurate site maps or walked transect lines without it.

I still use a compass regularly now; there are no trails where I most often hike.

I have a GPS too; I mostly use it for geocaching, not for actual navigating. When hiking I collect GPS data points occasionally throughout the day. Then back at home I can plot a map of where I've been.

Not as much as I should. I haven't used one in quite a while, and I definitely should keep my map and compass skills more honed.

I've never actually used one, in fact, I don't even own one, and just learned how to use one last year from an internet animation. I don't hardly get a chance to go places that I don't already know intimately, so I imagine I'll start using one if I ever get into backpacking.

I use one often enough. My dad kind of engrained having one and nowing how to use it. Most times I dont NEED one, but i try to stay in practice for when I do.
