How often should the Folders be disassembled and cleaned?

Mick has posted before that he would rather they just be sprayed out with break cleaner as they are harder than heck to get apart, especially considering you need the special spanner to get the pivot bolt out. I have used break cleaner on mine with no ill effects.
 
Its brake cleaner like for a car. I have used CLP, and MilTec oil on my GB with great results. Just spray the gunk out of the knife and then air the thing out. I would not take it apart myself unless I was REALLY pressed to do so. If its really bad, send it in to the shop, turn around on my WB (resharpen, refinish, rewrap) was less than 7 days!
 
I meant brake cleaner. Once again we see the value of a rural Kentucky public education.:p
