How Often....

Oct 3, 1998
I was wondering how often all of my fellow knife nuts check out Bladeforums? I check them when i get up for work ,on lunch at work(the boss doesn't even know the computer is online), and six or seven times once i get home. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy.

My name is Nick and I'm a Bladeforumsaholic
When I get up in the morning, when I'm at work (during breaks) and when I get home. Can't go long without checking in. Don't want to miss anything.
I'm with Greg... same schedule for checking my e-mail inbox

"No, it's a Vaquero Grande in my pocket, but I am happy to see you!"

Nowadays it's first thing in AM and when I get home from work. At my old job it was sometimes every couple hours, ahhh, the good old days.

When I get up in the morning and ever hour when I am home. I don't have a internet connect at work or I would check ever hour of the day.

For me, it's first thing in the morning while settling in at work, and several times throughout the day when I take short breaks. Then I get home, fire up my system, and have yet another go prior to supper. Then at night in between working on my articles, I'm usually peeking in every so often. So, yes, I am a BladeForums-aholic

"The keystroke is mightier than the sword"

I often check the forums in the morning.
Always at lunch, and alot of times in the evenings when I'm attempting to get some work done.
Jeez, we all sound the same.
For me it's in the morning before work, at lunch and when I get home before supper. Then 3 or 4 times at night and them before bed.

Right now it's the middle of the night, I am not tired and the wife and kids are asleep.
Feels like heaven!

I usually check it out when i get up (noon) and after work (midnight). And i thought i was a bladeforums nut. I now see that i just have a mild case compared to others here.

The key to continuous checking is to get rid of that phone modem and get connected by cable modem like I have. It will often download 10 megabytes in 10 seconds and never slower than in 30 seconds. So you can maximize your effort with minimium delay.

Many people have a good fast link like that at work, closer to the T1 hub, but they need a "boss screen" feature to really feel safe checking continuously. With that a keystroke puts a complicated looking spreadsheet on the screen that resembles some work you should be doing. Some of the original DOS games like Infocom's Zork (you are standing in front of a white house...) had nice boss screens. Without them computer games would not be as advanced as they are today. Maybe that could be holding back progress of the forum? But then you could always keep it in a little tiny window. Does anybody else have this problem?
Senpai excuse me but what the hell are you talking about! Just kidding Nick
When I arrive in the office at 9AM, also at lunch and before leaving the office at 6PM.

Hoe I wish I had a PC at home with unlimited internet access...

Gee, I guess I'm slacking off on my responsibilities. I only get on once or twice a day...for about 2 hours a time. I'll try to do better.

Bladeforums is up in a Netscape window the entire time I am at work. Don't always get to check it, but I try.

Weekends, I have started checking it while my S.O. is doing her homework. Still, the T1 at work is much better than the 33.6 modem.

Too often.
I get to check in while at work, so I'm here 3 or 4 times a day.
