i used mine to break ice and move boxes. my 1/4" saber ground lesj works better for the task of breaking ice though.

ive only gotten to make a couple full fledged beer runs so far, and that set was the first. most of the beers that are available here are american craft beers, with a few imports here and there, but its pretty rare to see a good beer selection, let along a good imported ones. id love to try a lot of what you just mentioned, but i would have to order it online or straight from the company and have it shipped.the current run i just did has some great ones in it -

lagunitis - brown shuggah ale (awesome :D)
mississippi mudd - black and tan (wich is actually quite weak... poured out half of it. highly drinkable, i just dont like weak beer.)
sierra nevada - celebration ale
---summerfest
---ipa
north coast - old rasputin's russian imperial stout
bison - gingerbread ale
---belgian ale
stockyard - oatmeal stout
castle brewery - samichlaus bier (2003) = the best beer ive had yet
buffalo bills - pumpkin ale
chimay - grande reserve
---cinq cents
---premier
dixie - blackened voodoo lager
petes wicked strawberry blonde
humbolt brewing co - hemp ale
warsteiner - premium verum (pilsner?)
fat tire - amber ale
guinness - extra stout
bohemia - lager (going back to some of these to see how they fair now that ive tried a lot heavier variety. mississippi mudd failed second round, so some of these may not be to my liking now)
pilsner urquel
"bert grants" yakima brew.&malt. co - deep powder winter ale
north coast - old no 38 stout
e.j. phair brew co - winter ale
anderson valley brew co - 2004 winter solstice seasonal ale
theakston old peculier ale
red stripe - jamaican lager (havent tried it yet)
saxer jack frost - winter doppelbock
bridgeport - ebenezer ale
rogue - mocha porter
---dead guy ale
cuvee - diabolique belgian ale
---angelique belgian ale
wynchwood - scarecrow ale
samuel smith - old brewery pale ale
stone brew co - ipa

and honestly, that is a pretty broad coverage of whats available around here... i know that there are better locations to get beer that have better selections, i just havent seen them yet. the majority of the ones ive gotten in this pack are american craft beers.

one of the problems is that what imports we do have are reletively light beers, pils, lagers, some ales, some bocks. the samchlaus was one of the first heavy imports i saw wich is why i got it (a barleywine style lager (heavenly :D ))

i would definitely be interested in some heavier belgian beers if i could find them...

Where are u posted in the US? i could call to the brewers and find out if they have a US based distributer, if u like that? It's just a local call for me. :)

Loki88,

It took me three months of discipline to save enough money to buy my first Busse. My advice is to do the same.

how much more substantial do these new .27 steel hearts feel when you pick them up? I'm starting to get the itch.

...it took me one nanosecond of weakness and my credit card... :grumpy:

being out of the loop for a year i suppose i should ask what the "manufacture recomended" brew to christen a new steel heart might be? perhaps it is included on the instruction booklet?
