How sharp do you like your bigger ESEEs to be?

I've been sharpening my 6 and was asking myself if it was really necessary to get it razor sharp seeing as it's going to be used on wood and other camp stuff. So I figured I'd ask everyone here: How sharp do you usually keep your bigger "outdoors" knives.

Sharpness means easy work. So as sharp as possible.

My junglas came very sharp. Its a pleasure to work with. I keap it like this.

while even 'choppers' need to be sharp, the blade grind is certainly different than that for a knife that would only be used to process small game.

I have always thought that trading functionality for sharpness, was a poor trade.

I keep mine as sharp as possible, however I may keep the edge angle wider on my larger blades than I would on my small EDC carry knife. I may go 22-25 degrees per side rather than 15-18 degrees just so that the edge isn't as fragile when I am doing any type of chopping.

I keep mine as sharp as I can get them using my basic Sharpmaker. My knives are usually sharp enough to easily shave with.

The sharper the better without going to thin on the edge. I have my 6 and 4 around 17 degrees per side and sropped to a shine. I call them my bush razors. I have done all normal wood craft and they hold an edge forever, amazing heat treat means you can go thinner and sharper so you might as well take advantage of it.

My smaller knives are sharp enough to shave. My bigger/thicker knives (Bark River Bravo, ESEE 5 & 6) slightly less so.

I keep them just as sharp. Why make any cutting harder? But usually I widen up the angle a couple of degrees.
